Two hours on PRIME time with no updates

If you are going to keep the servers down on prime time, can you at least give some kind of updates regarding how long we are going to have to wait?

Check their update forum. Was expected to finish at midday, probably EST so an hour ago. Now it'll be up by "this evening."

That server status is quite a funny place. It has posts from earlier today, that say the server is already up. Which is not.

Prime what? Oh prime time. You mean the only time I have to play really.

Early morning USA is not prime.
In fact this is scheduled downtime, much like WoW has had since 2003.

    Simmer down now.

    Shoddy servers are high maintenance.

They need to maintain the shod.

With much respect, the USA is not the only country in the world. It is currently 7:25PM in South Africa [BST]. How much more than prime time is that?

Have to remember this goes for both servers... It's prime time now for EU server and it's still down. Has been prime time for lets say around 2-3 hours where I am located, as its almost 7.30pm here and EU server is still down.
And thats even after downloading one update already.

What makes you think the OP is talking about the US servers?

As with most MMOs the majority of players come from the EU not the US, so, when people are talking about servers it's more likely that they mean the EU than the US server.

ZOE shot down the EU servers during prime time again and it is likely that they won't come back till tomorrow. That's not just a *** move but it also starts to generate quite some negative press here in the EU. Rightfully so if you ask me.

ZOE get your *** together, stop shutting down servers during prime time due to minor issues. And if you do so be honest about it up front and compensate your paying costumers for the downtime.

South Africa? Its the same time in other weird places, like central Europe.

If you are playing on a North American server, you should fully expect downtime to be scheduled in a manner that corresponds to North American hours of the day.

WTF with you, Zenimax, again? Why prime-time?
WE DO NOT NEED ANY PATCHES IN THE OUR PRIME-TIME!
Even if it will be bugfixes or something. Seriously!

But this is about NA server only, so what happened with EU-server? Why it's unavialible?!

It has posts saying the server (EU) went down for scheduled maintenance, then the server went up (was up for about 7 hours), then went down again for an issue (yet to be named or explained) about 2,5 hours ago.

Vlas, the never-ending troll of ESO's forums. Please stop posting on here...

To the issue at hand, servers are down until later today, nothing you can do about it, stop whining and go do something else. It's that easy really. If you really have nothing else to do then whine about the servers being down, you probably need to revise your priorities in life.
This is priceless. a troll bitching at a troll, then proceeding to troll just like the previous troll he was bitching at, simply with more words and actually insulting the OP.

Take your own advise : "please stop posting here..."

Except that he probably is playing on the EU server which should be located in the EU to begin with. It already sucks that we have to deal with latency related issues due to the server being in the US but on top of that ZOE decides to be a *** and to shut servers down during our prime time just cos they feel like it.

Not like we pay to play the game or anything.

Every time they take the server down for an entire day like this they should extend our sub-time the same length of the downtime and add it back on the timer. Only fair.

They meant early afternoon EDT which translates to "in the middle of the night" for us Europeans.

The person isn't playing on a NA server, she/he is playing on a EU server, and with a couple of hundred thousand if not even millions of users they could afford to have maintenance people working odd hours to fit EU times.

This is insane. We understand the need for maintenance but do not do it during the day when most of the player base is trying to play. come on. there is plenty of time for each respective server to do maintenance during the night in their time zone. Zen really needs to start comp'ing for this if they are planning on making all this horribly time maintenance a regular thing. This is the third time this week my very small window for eso has been ruined by shenanigans.

Edit: or you know at minimum at least hourly updates from the staff. It has been almost 3 hours since all of us have heard anything.

there is no such thing as "prime time" its relative to the person. no matter what time they take servers down it will be "prime time" for someone somewhere. the world does not revolve around each person individually. its impossible for them to take the servers down at a time that won't interrupt anyone.

There was another game that had issues with hamsters getting tired in their wheels. That game actually gave free subscription time for the people playing on the affected servers.
Zenimax should learn from the experts in the field.
