Northern Storm (morph):
The Max Magicka granted from this morph is no longer enabled passively by slotting. Instead, it is granted for 30 seconds after activating the Ultimate.
Increased the amount of Magicka granted to 9% from 8%.
This morph now ranks up in 2% Max Magicka granted per rank, up to 15% at Rank I, rather than 1.1% damage done per rank.

With the damage nerf to permafrost this morph was looking like the go-to option for magwardens in PvP. Now with this change, the damage is better, but the constant max mag was important for shield strength and sustain while playing magwarden. Now we just get the damage benefit of the magicka when casting the ability, so it’s purely damage.

I’m considering just running destro ult instead, depending on how the damage numbers compare.

I’m so tired of these changes that are just unnecessary. Magwarden is anything but overperforming in PvP right now. We didn’t need a nerf to both morphs of our unique and favorite ultimate.

    I just wish they would allow it to have some utility for stamden. I enjoy using permafrost on my stamden but I can adapt to using northern storm if it was a dedicated offensive morph that offered utility to both class specs. At this point I'll probably just have to go back to DBoS.
    PvP needs more love.

    It wouldn't be much of an ultimate if it could be countered that easily. I'm assuming you talking about it being able to break stealth means you're playing nightblade which means you shouldn't have much trouble being able to move out of the AOE.

    Magdens didn’t deserve this lol. First you nuke the synergy between lightening staffs and magden by killing the stun, then you essentially Make perma a support only skill. So destro ultd and meteor or that absolute joke bear...

    LOLOLOLOL where were you when they nerfed other ults with useless silence, cast time, loss of debuffs and so on? even the "pve morph" of Dawnbreaker got the same treatment as sleet storm.

    ppl are only crying when theyr overpowared abilities are tweaked. i can only agree with such change (yes i'm a nightblade, you can tbag my portrait for free)

    it completely removes us from stealth and its way too low in cost for 200 ult.
    this thing is spammable and needs change and or deleted from eso entirely.

    no, but i cant see the red on this and its way too huge.
    it completely removes us from stealth and its way too low in cost for 200 ult.
    this thing is spammable and needs change and or deleted from eso entirely.
    needs gone, get rid of it.

    Northern Storm (morph):
    The Max Magicka granted from this morph is no longer enabled passively by slotting. Instead, it is granted for 30 seconds after activating the Ultimate.
    Increased the amount of Magicka granted to 9% from 8%.
    This morph now ranks up in 2% Max Magicka granted per rank, up to 15% at Rank I, rather than 1.1% damage done per rank.

    With the damage nerf to permafrost this morph was looking like the go-to option for magwardens in PvP. Now with this change, the damage is better, but the constant max mag was important for shield strength and sustain while playing magwarden. Now we just get the damage benefit of the magicka when casting the ability, so it’s purely damage.

    I’m considering just running destro ult instead, depending on how the damage numbers compare.

    I’m so tired of these changes that are just unnecessary. Magwarden is anything but overperforming in PvP right now. We didn’t need a nerf to both morphs of our unique and favorite ultimate.

    well i mean, you no longer have to double slot northern storm, and you get 7% more now when it's activated. You lose passive benefit which is great imo, because our class is legit just "slot this and slot that". I'm down for this change the more and more I look at it. Now what should be coming is a proper skill that really fits in with our burst such as my Arctic Blast 4.0 idea, then we would actually have something unique and fun happening on this class with damage skill synergy. means we could take berserk away from bird of prey to make that skill actually a movement skill, as all it does right now is patch up our *** design.

    perma's 50% nerf was absolutely deserving. it's the damn best utility ultimate in the game. very happy that it's staying utility while northern stays damage like we asked.
