4th Event and 4th berry for Q3?

I just asked on twitter when the last Q3 event is going to be announced and the response I got was "More details in the coming weeks"

So basically no new event for a bit

    I can dig that.

Though, it's probably going to be early October. Maybe CWC?

I think the Witches Festival started October 18th last year. At least to me, I would think "coming weeks" means they won't announce until at least October 8th (two weeks from today), which doesn't seem to leave enough time for an entire event before Witches.

Honestly I'm really surprised they're not announcing it today. I would've thought it would be announced today, and then run Sept 26-Oct 8. I really don't know how they'll fit in another event before Witches, which is pretty squarely a Q4 event. And if they do make Witches a Q3 event, it leaves me wondering what the Q4 events will be.

In general, I'm not that happy with communication about these events. Every indrik event so far has been announced at the beginning of the quarter what the events will be-Q4 2018, Q1, and Q2 of this year we knew at the beginning of the quarter what events to expect. But this quarter seems to be very disorganized and hastily thrown together.

Yeah...this quarter has been weird. First quarter was all laid out, as was the second quarter. I don't know that not having MYM threw them off, since they just replaced it with an encore of DB/TG event. Maybe they're considering whether they can go ahead with MYM sometime in Q4 and are thus trying to determine what events to have as the final for the third quarter and the ones for the fourth quarter.

So far, the only events that have been put on the PTS recently that haven't yet occurred are Witches, Undaunted, and New Life (which is available for testing this week). We haven't yet had the CWC anniversary event this year. There are also potential anniversaries for Summerset and Murkmire. I don't think they'll do Summerfall again, since that was a promotional event to sell the SS chapter, but they could give it the anniversary treatment with double drops from dailies and the trial, with tickets awarded from the first daily completed. They could also hold MYM, but we did actually have that event earlier this year as an encore, so I'd rather have some of the anniversary events that still haven't happened.

I did notice that they are awarding 2 tickets for the first New Life daily completed each day, vs. the 1 ticket from last year, so maybe that event will offer 2 berries plus the Indrik pet, instead of the final berry/pet. It sure would be nice to know what ZOS' plans are for the remaining Onyx berry/pet and the Pure Snow berries/pet. I'm still doing ok for feathers, as I have 3 of the 4 required for the Pure Snow and all 3 of the Onyx berries that have been available. But, it might be that I'll come up short if I want to get feathers for a 5th nascent (since I skipped the IC event).

It seems ZOS has as much event/Indrik weariness by now as many players do.

Personally, I'm rather sick of the grind, but as a completionist (and a cheap one who refuses to buy a single ticket), I have to finish what I started. So, bring on the next event whenever. I'm ready!

@Starlock - you are of course entitled to your opinion. So however am I, and also I'm perfectly happy to spend RL money on my hobby, which is this game.

I gave the yellow indrik a miss as I thought it ugly. I want the onyx and the white ones. I didn't like any of the Q3 events so far, no telling about the 4th (if there is one even....) so I'm quite enjoying being able to get the tickets another way. I will likely be able to get all the tickets Q4 through events, and I'm very glad ZOS gave me and others with issues getting tickets for whatever reason another option.

I will continue to buy as I see fit, because I'm really having fun in this game. I will also continue to sub for two accounts.

    Each to her own.

Hey, totally unrelated question, is the group finder still stuffed?

Yup! And even better, the "port to FG1" way of handling the horror of queuing for a random on, say, your level 46 and ending up in some place like March of Sacrifices when you have half a dozen OTHER randoms you still need to run that day for the event no longer works.

It's also no longer necessary. You don't need to complete a random quest anymore, you just need to kill the last boss.

If you want to you can just enter FG 1 solo to get your tickets.

There's a difference here. For tickets you only needed to kill the final boss of any dungeon meaning soloing Fungal Grotto was fine. If you wanted mysterious boxes that had the extra goodies in them, you had to use dungeon finder for a random.

They should just reward the boxes for doing pledges instead of random dailies.

This here is the reason why events were transformed from good spirited fun celebrations to a classic example of predatory microtransaction schemes. Not to pick on you, but you're being exploited by the design of these. Don't give them the pleasure, much less your money. And for the record, I fell for it too until I recognized exactly what was going on:

Step 1 - introduce a fun, community event with no strings attached to acclimate the community to them
Step 2 - introduce event-based currency that can only be earned by participating in the event; attach limited time rewards to the event that can only be purchased with the event-based currency
Step 3 - offer the limited time currency in the cash shop and cap the amount of event-based currency that can be held to force many players into the cash shop in order to complete collections or bypass deliberately designed grinds (because "convenience")
Step 4 - make future events and their prizes as convoluted and opaque as possible to confuse the buyer and frustrate them into just buying even more of the currency in your cash shop (because "convenience")
Step 5 - profit by the hundreds of thousands of dollars from your masterfully designed racket and laugh as players are mostly oblivious to the fact that you're deliberately exploiting them

“Predatory microtransactions”??? It’s lovely that some people have so few problems that having the option to buy a totally optional virtual cosmetic can be considered predatory.

You know what you’re getting and it’s pretty easy to do the math. I’m behind because I started the game only this past July and participate as much in the events as is fun for me because this is a game, not a job, and I know this means I may only get one Indrik and that’s totally okay. If you decide to purchase tickets from the Crown store, I will not insult your intelligence by assuming you are incapable of determining what something is worth to you. :)

The Murkmire Dragonhold prologue dailies MIGHT be the next ticket event this quarter, of course! It's an easy solution to the issue of having too many content commitments in the near future.

The number of tickets you can earn per day varies by event. In particular, for longer duration events, you may get only one ticket per day. If the Undaunted event is going to give three tickets a day, it implies that it might only last for a week (seven or eight days => 21 or 24 tickets), OR that there will be additional items purchasable with event tickets that ZoS think people will really want to get in addition to the Snow Indrik feather of the moment. Alternatively, they are being generous because the event overlaps with the release of other new content, and it's a way of letting players easily get enough tickets while also doing the other content (new zone etc.).

Erst danach beginnen die "echten" Events des vierten Quartals und das Beerensammeln geht von vorne los.

Only then will the "real" events of the fourth quarter begin and berry picking will start again.

The other events are not that mysterious, they are partly tested on the PTS. For example, the celebrations of the intrepid or this week the New Year. It is also no secret that the witches party returns.
And for the last two, you can also tell when they are about to take place with a look at the calendar.

Something bigger? Interesting. People on the PTS said there are new collectibles for a Murkmire event, but Q4 seems to already be full with:

    Witches Festival
    Dungeon event
    Clockwork City
    New Life Festival

So what could they mean about something bigger? I would assume it's the datamined Elsweyr event, but the Summerfall event wasn't much of an event, just going to several locations on Summerset, and expecting people to own the latest chapter to earn tickets isn't very reasonable.

Maybe Murkmire and CWC will be combined into one event like Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood? Every dlc can't have a solo event or they will run out of space fast. I have no clue anymore.

They may not be mysterious but they're usually only announced a few days before they start. For example the Imperial City event was announced on the 3rd September and started on the 5th, the Orsinium celebration was announced on 6th August and started on the 8th.

Some of them we know to expect based on previous years (like the Witch's Festival and New Life), but only because of that.

The last time they gave us dates further in advance was when the indriks and feathers/berries was first announced, and that only had dates for the four events in Q4 2018. There was a similar announcement for the evolved indriks at the start of 2019 which listed the four Q1 events that would give dawnwood berries, but that didn't include any dates. Since then we've not had a schedule, we just had to assume there would be enough events throughout the year to award all the tickets needed.

Interestingly, the apparent name of these rewards: "The Ten Gifts of Nafaalilargus". For all the Elder Scrolls lore buffs out there, you may recognize that name as a dragon from the game Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard. Nafaalilargus, for those of you who don't know, is a dragon who later aligns himself with Tiber Septim, and isn't "slain" until 2E 864. The rate this is going, so many events we could have had in Q3 that simply didn't happen, I'm starting to wonder if the 4th Onyx berry will be the Day 1 daily login reward for October.

At this point, unless they announce the upcoming event in the next few hours, I think we'll have the event dates on Tuesday or Wednesday with the Crown Store Showcase

Wow - still nothing from ZoS yet. I guess they are missing out on the last chance to start a Q3 event during Q3, and having it start in October instead (probably Thursday, 3 October).

Expecting the devs to strictly adhere to a calendar is a bit melodramatic ... don’t you think?

It's probably the CWC event since Q4 has plenty of event time with the new life slavery. Oops I mean new life festival.
