Elsweyr Event Datamined, Possible Character Spoiler/Speculation?

So apparently, we're going to be getting another event similar to Summerfall for Elsweyr. And it has me genuinely curious for several reasons.




"Apparently, we are soon waiting for the Dragon Rise event, similar to last year's Summerfall - but dedicated to the Elsweyr chapter. There is no official information yet, however, after a recent update, lines have traditionally appeared in the game’s resources with brief information about what can await us.
The essence of the event will remain the same: we have to fulfill the achievement “Elsweyr Pathfinder” - that is, to visit all the remarkable places in this region. The rewards (ten gifts of Nafaalilargus with various items, a pet - a green demon dragon, a suit of a grim reaper, as well as a piece of furniture - dragon treasures) will be unlocked in stages, depending on how many players receive the achievement.
Progress can be tracked on the official website, and all players who have purchased the Elsweyr head will be able to pick up what they deserve, regardless of their personal contribution. More details are expected closer to the start of the event. So far, we can only assume that it will take place no earlier than September."

That was translated from that Russian website, and it's got me a little excited. Not only because of another dragon imp pet (which I still wish wasn't technically an imp in disguise), but the costume looks interesting, and I'm wondering if the furnishing is literally that entire pile of treasure!

But what has me really curious is the apparent name of these rewards: "The Ten Gifts of Nafaalilargus". For all the Elder Scrolls lore buffs out there, you may recognize that name as a dragon from the game Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard.



Nafaalilargus, for those of you who don't know, is a dragon who later aligns himself with Tiber Septim, and isn't "slain" until 2E 864. And since ESO takes place around 2E 582, Nafaalilargus is still alive. So what I'm wondering is does this mean we'll see Nafaalilargus and he'll aid us against the other dragons? Or, since this is purely speculation, is this just a fun little one-off lore reference? We shall find out soon enough!

And according to the collections tab on live right now, the furnishing is indeed that pile of treasure

So do in EU if u are in NA, this event was awesome last year and bring many players helping each other and working as one.

People playing cross-servers last time was the nicest thing ever. There were farm groups helping the tourists and new players getting the achievement faster.

Last year this event was great. People scored a house, mount, pet. It really brought people together and was easy to get. Even if it’s just a marketing ploy chances are if you’re here talking you’re already playing

Does it really matter if it's a "marketing ploy" ? I mean, if it works out like with Summerfall... any event that brings people together is good in my book. I mean, it's way better than the usual, very repetitive, often competitive events where people screw each other over, no?

The Dragonguard, Paarthurnax AND Nafaalilargus in the Q4 DLC? I really hope the story is going to be good .. Senchal is just such a weird setting for all of it.

I enjoyed watching the stream where Gina and Lawrence visited summerset locations and talked about lore. And there was an ocean of players following. It was fun.

Exactly. Hearing Lawrence pour out stories and lore at every turnpoint was amazing. Let's hope they bring in the Turtle for a run of Elsweyr.

Also, the rewards are nice enough I suppose. The necromancer costume, and the pile of treasure you can already see in the collectibles menu. I wonder what the other rewards are, the translation from Russian doesn't make much sense, but I suppose we'll know soon anyway.

Cool! I didn't think they were going to do this type of event for Elsweyr. I really thought that they did Summerfall because sales were low, but I suppose they had great success with it so why not do it for Elsweyr, regardless of whether sales have been better or not.

I'm not really that thrilled with the revealed rewards - another imp pet to get in my face all the time (seriously, can they at least hide these when I'm in menus so I'm not distracted by several imps whirling around while I'm trying to post items to the guild store?). The costume looks decent, but I haven't been itching for a necro costume, despite having a necro. And the treasure furnishing? Meh. If Jode's Embrace was pulled for this event (as speculated by someone in another thread - sorry, can't remember who), then I'd be on board. Well, I'm on board anyway since it was a great event last year. And I'll probably still do the achievement on the EU server. But, I don't think I'll be watching the progress as closely as I did last year unless the remaining rewards are more interesting to me.

Looking forward to the event, though not sure about the rewards as yet. But another event like this is really neat, happy it seems to be happening!
