Sword and Board: Deep Slash and Power Slam

Hello,

So recently sword and Board got changed. Heroic and ransack got a damage nerf and somehow power slam is our new damage spammable.

But why does a slam with my shield more damage then a cut with my sword? I really want to use the sword and board as my damage source but having to Spam a shield slam as my damage skill looks to weird. So, what would be nice if you could just swap the functionality of deep Slash and power slam. Would even make more Sense.

Power Slam: Deals a little bit of damage and applies minor maim to the enemies hit and apply a little snare.

- Your shield is your defensiv tool and on using it with an ability it would apply defensive debuff on your enemy. You shield is a utility/defense Tool.

Deep Slash: Deals damage and with blocking you enrage yourself to deal more damage on your next deep Slash.

Please consider putting it even in this PTS cicle. I really want to use sword and board as my damage source but that i need to spam a shield slam feels awkward...

    i think you never had a shield bash in your face =)

    shield strikes are actually devastating


    as for game mechanics ZOS just likes nerfing things

    I understand this, but never will a shield strike deal more damage then a slap with my mace.

    The changes to Sword & Board were a big disappointment to me.

    This change just truly doesn't make sense. Like seriously, what dev thinks spamming the shield bash animation makes for fun gameplay? It's terrible just like the stone fist animation. I swear zos has employed the most uncreative bunch of developers they could have found, either that or they have employed devs who jumped at a chance for a good job without actually having any passion or experience in gaming.

    You wanna be a badass knight with a longsword and shield? Cut in the enemy lines and unleash devastating power? Well, No more. Please spam your shield bash to do damage....

    Hmm. Okay this change does seem a bit strange actually and I'm okay with most other changes...

    I wonder if they were playing pokemon, when they did this change? 🤔

    Crouching down to swipe at your enemies ankles every second with deep slash would be worse than the shield. If anything, make puncture the spammable ability (even though it would make using axes and maces less desirable since thrusting with those make no sense)

    I love power slam. I think it looks cool and I feel powerful with it. Peirce armor is like, poke poke. Hardly powerful feeling. It is like I am playing a completely different game then you people, I just don't get it.

    i like power slam as a single target dps skill and deep slash as aoe dps, i just dont like the skills as they are today...imo deep sl should cause an aoe bleed and powerslam minor vuln.

    Its 100% awkward to use your shield as you damage spammable instead of your sword/Mace/axe or even dagger....
