Imperial Furnishing Plans When?

I'm sure I am not the first person to mention this and hopefully won't be the last, but... come on ZOS where's all the Imperial style furnishings?
The items are already in the game, and sure if I have $2,500 lying around I could just buy them off the crown store, but I want to be able to craft them—if not on my Imperial than at least for her.

Ideally, it'd be great to just have the plans drop at the same rates as the others (based on the item/object's colour/rarity of course), but if ZOS wants to keep that paywall-exclusive shindig up, then maybe have them only "findable" by those with the Imperial Edition in a way similar to how Psijic Portals are only obtainable by those with that line unlocked (although even that's still kinda scummy).
If it's the whole "keep it rare, keep it special" idea that ZOS wants to uphold, then the solution is just to have them be rare, much like the Imperial motif book is. The point though, is that since we have Imperial-Themed homes that we can purchase for gold... shouldn't we be able to fill them with Imperial-themed furniture without having to dig into our RL wallets?

yes? no? maybe? lobster?
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

I think it would be cool if they dropped in IC, that would get more people in there. Or maybe there could be RNG boxes that are sold for telvar. Either way I think this is a way to get more people in IC which is mostly dead for 50 weeks out of the year.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna stay crowns only, which is reasonable

They look a lot like breton, and you can get away with faking it with breton in a lot of cases

IMO, breton looks better. The dull ashy look of Imperial is blah, considering it's only available for crowns. Also, orange bed? Ugh.

Imperial furniture has been crowns only since Homestead because it is nearly identical to Breton - only difference is the wood color and the bed canopy. If you can't afford crowns, just use Breton. Looks fine even in an Imperial home.

As others have said, this isn't true. Breton furnishings have a knotwork design, whereas Imperial has a vine-like scrolling design. They ARE fairly distinct, and, regardless, similarity to Breton furnishings is ZERO reason to keep Imperial furnishings Crown-locked. Imperials have been the redheaded stepchild of the playable races since before launch.

@TheNightflame what makes it reasonable that ONE of the playable races has ALL their furnishing designs locked, unlike any of the others? That seems like the definition of unreasonable to me....

You could always get them crown gifted to you. I did that with all the imperial carpets and statues, and it didn't cost tons of gold at the time. Might wanna wait til crate craziness is past, tho

I agree, OP. It does not make sense to me either. In every other style, aren’t some items craftable-only, some Crown-only and many both? We can even craft dwemer pieces so it really doesn’t make sense that we wouldn’t be able to craft Imperial, if all things. And from a purely commercial standpoint, it doesn’t strike me as unique or attractive enough that most people would pay Crowns for it.

I think the only way we're gonna get Imperial craftable furniture is with an expansion or DLC and it will most likely make the old furniture look like the lego blocks that they are. It sucks that we don't have a legitimate way to furnish the myriad of Imperial style homes we have right now other than resorting to the crown store but I have a hunch we'll visit an Imperial region soon and then we'll get much better modern furniture. That being said, I bit the bullet and furnished my Linchal (one of my first projects) with mostly Imperial furniture and it cost a mini fortune. C'est la vie.
