What, I don't get it for magicka new patch

Whats going on. First they force dot build. Now they nerf dot build 30+% (2 ticks more )? I mean every dot on magicka. And 2 dots on stamina. When magicka was already behind stamina about 20%.

Can someone please explain or have I misunderstood?

All dots are nerfed. Dots still deal %30 more damage than a spammable. All builds in PvP will slot 1-2 dot to open up and other skills to kill. There will be burst meta in my opinion. Nerf of dizzy will hurt many stambuilds.
In PvE, nearly nothing will change. DoTs are still better than spammables. Everyone will slot 1 spammable to fill in rotations and keep their dots up. PvEer gonna need more sustain and their dps will drop a few years ago's numbers.

They didn't touch Berserker Strike though which I've seen hit people > 20k like there's no Battle Spirit.

Well they gave magplars one more play style range dot spec, and not just the melee spec they are trying to force all magplars to use, now they reverse it and force magplars back to melee spec only again. Dots where finally useful even tho damage was a bit on the low side compared to spammables, had to spam 3 dots on someone to even come close to for ex dyzzying swing damage, if I spend time enough rime to use 3 spells on you it should hurt, but now they will be like wet noodles even 3 dots wont even do half a spammables damage.

Nothing in any of these new patches makes any sense. They always seem to cater for PvP and not PvE. A team truly responsible for 'balancing' would balance abilities between the two, if it impacts PvP then do changes to the ability when it's in a PvP scenario instead of implementing it into both PvP and PvE and vise versa.

No it’s because of pve. If they didn’t reduce them as much as they did specs wouldn’t have changed and people would just be doing less damage.

It was the Elder Dots Online complaints in pve dps specs (didn’t exist in pvp) that caused the nerfs.

I don't get is sorry... Nerf every magicka dot ? And let stamina necro meta still strong ? Magicka aren't just useless, they are dead. The difference bitween magicka and stam necro is to big.

Yes, that is the only way to balance both. For example WoW has tried everything to get "universal" balance between those, but at the end thing that worked best is to adjust damage/healing/cc duration etc. on pvp scenarios.

Bandage would be to put also overall damage reduction element to Impen armor. But yea ZoS ESO team just don't have the resources to develop the matter they have more urgent issues like getting the game to work properly.

You are largely misinformed. Dot meta is VERY PREVALENT in PvP as well.

Fire and forget playstyle of dots is cheesy and unenjoyable for both pve and pvp, In pvp especially its just more tools for the zerg, entropy + staff light attack + glyph proc is insane damage that has no counter other than cleanse or cloak

Obviously things are still very early, but highest stam necro parse I’ve heard of on PTS was like 81k. Highest mag parse I’ve seen is magsorc at 85k. Both on the iron dummy. If others have more information I’d love to hear it, but atm doesn’t seem like magicka’s dead.

Updated with new parses I’ve seen.

They even said on stream it is because of sick burst bosses in PvE content that was possible because of dot meta and Necro stacking

Yea some liko parses and such, but for most its harder now to parse because of all dots.

What the devs are doing is this, they're bumping damage high and letting us use it to see how it works. Next is the low end and after this they will have the info for how all the abilities perform from a highest damage perspective and also the lowest end damage perspective. This is to make sure, not guess, where when this is finished all damage balanced should be in their opinion.

How will nearly nothing change in PvE if sustain is nerfed and dps drops to 'a few years ago's numbers' ?

The play style this last patched introduced is straight cancer. Entrophy Soul Trap × however many Xv1 scrubs decided to group that day, a Toppling charge spamming templar that occasionally spammed Radiant, and those not informed who just get wrecked by the meta players.

I’d have bought that if Brian Wheeler hadn’t actually used the words “dot meta.” No one at ZOS coined that phrase, some forum nerfling did.

Further, I’d have believed what you said was true, if @ZOS_GinaBruno hadn’t read a question like “do you play Eso, and Brian looked crazy and mentioned where they get their ideas. He basically said from reading nerf threads. Lol. (It’s why nerflings write so many).

If you’re bad at a game, just be bad. Beyond a certain point, it’s not the game.

What class are you? A couple magsorcs mentioned they couldn’t handle dots, but in BGs I fought against groups trying this and they didn’t get over 100 points in a DM.

Most lopsided BG ever. It was against all magblades, Sorcs and magtemplars trying ranged kiting and they got rolled hard. Some really good players too, SUNBARK is one of the best magtemplars and he was on the losing team.

I used to think people of opposing opinions were less experienced but now I’m thinking it’s a class issue.

Stamdk. This Was a BG experience. By the time I had cast vigor and stampede I was cced and 4 traps/Entrophy 2 vamp banes while slogging thru the middle of a cleansing ritual. They all literally had heals/dots and one spear/dark flare, that's it. Then the other group at max range hit us with split soul trap so now it's 6-8. Popped vitality/minor prot pot Stomp/GDB/Vigor/rally tried again and instantly melted during next CC.

I know why the DoT meta is stupid AF firsthand.

That makes sense, despite DKs complaining a lot about the dot nerf because they’re primarily a dot class, the class also has least amount of tools to deal with them. Especially stamdks.
