HOTs - Suggestion, lower heals in PVP for U24

Hi ZOS,

So, HOTs got the same buff as DOTs in U23. I believe most of our HOT tooltips went up greatly just like our DOTs. Heres the thing, by nerfing DOTs majorly HOTs will need to fall in line. Tested this with a friend. I put all my DPS on him and he used 2 HOTs and just out healed all my damage. On live he needs to kite, shield, heal. On the PTS he needs to only use 2 HOTs to out heal my damage.

Yes, I can combo and that'll start breaking him down, but then once the combo time is down he just uses the 2 HOTs and outheals.


While I do think HOTs need a nerf, this is indirectly because our secondary damage source (DOTs) are complete garbage right now.

So in conclusion, either HOTs must be scaled back, or DOTs must be scaled up.

    2800x2 = 5600 (50) = 2,800

    Biting Jabs:
    16400 (50%) = 8,200/second, (calculating only 3 for realistic)

    POTL: 18261+3652.2+4224 (50%) =13,068.6 (6seconds)

    In a 10 second period I do
    ~19,600 + 32,800 = 52,400 in 10 seconds

    HOT
    HOT1 - 21,500 (5 seconds) (x2) = 52,400 (50%) = 21,500
    Heal1- 800/hit/inpvp
    ARMOR DEDUCTION
    [Factor in armor (24kres) = ~35% + 10% (hardy)=45% deduction

    SIMULATED RESULTS:(No Crit)
    formula: totalAfterArmRed = (52,400) * totalArmors (45%)
    totalAfterArmRed (23580) - hotTotal (21,500) =damageDoneAfterHot
    totalHealthOfTarget (26,000)- damageDoneAfterHot (2080) = Result

    After 6-10 seconds: (6 second window)
    nocrit | Result = (~6s)23,920 health remaining
    ACTUAL RESULTS
    Testing the 1hot he remains about 19-21k health in 6 seconds of me bursting:
    rending + POTL + Brutality + 3 jabs, 21k health out of 26k health.
    RESULTS (after HOT ends)
    min | 21,000 Health Remaining
    max| 19,000 Health Remaining
    If you add in shields this is why Stamina is going to have a tougher time with Magicka.

    Your math is way off. Did you actually test it? Healing is cut by 50% as well.

    In BG higher MMR there are almost no dots as is and people do die. I don’t see an issue.

    We tested it over and over.

    5 test, this was the result for all 5.
    Are you on the PTS? Because this is relevant to U24 and CP. We are testing via duels he remains at ~19H-21kH /26H
    So in 6 seconds of bursting w/ no ult and assuming I only get 3 jabs in (for testing I did).
    3 jabs + potl + rending and the result was he had 4-5k health missing.

    Or just lower healing through battle spirit if it is actually over preforming in PvP so it doesn’t screw over the hardest PvE content that struggles with heals since healing changes.
