Only reason why it's now "intended" is because they couldn't find a fix for it soon enough, and now it's become and integral part of the game that they can't (even if they could.)
Old news. Here’s a 2015 ESO live, where Wrobel acknowledged they "are embracing it. It's a part of the game, and we want people to be doing it". His words.
ZOS literally can't figure out how to get rid of it or fix it

Thats why zos run from nerfing one beta just to buff other.
Lots of "pro" players will jump on me now, but in help kills things faster and make combat more fluid. And put a gap between "pro" players and casuals.
BS, totaly bull snits.
In other games i dont need animation cancer to kill things faster, and its prety visible if you are prayer above mid lvl and unexpuruenced one.
As long as we have this snit in game, we will see changes every 2-3 months, and will wonder WHY.
Do i use it, i do. Do i like it, i dont.
But the naked truth is, that devs are blind like new born kittens and already give up. Cant fix it even if they want.
So we have what we have.

Well intended or not I would still love a GCD on light and heavy attacks and made them more powerful but harder to aim at your target. That would be a an equal skillgap.
Not now when you have half of people using scripts and macros that automatically combine a skill use with weaving and anim cancel with a single button press.
And no, don't even try to convince me that macros aren't a thing or that they aren't reliable. I've seen them work myself and the actual apps with my own eyes. All you need is very basic programming knowledge.
Combine them with a mouse like razer Naga that has 12 buttons on the side and you can effectively use multiple macro setups, so the more complicated sequences won't limit you in unusable situations.

Macros for LA weaving are still widely used.
Mouses like logitech, razer that comes with a tool let you LA+skill.
Other addons (won't say the name) let you do more complicated stuff.
There are even someone who shared a script that works even if you don't have those mouses (just google "github LA weaving eso").
People say weaving helps making a gap between skilled and noobs, it doesn't...
It just gives an advantage to who afford expensive mouses with programmable buttons or good IT knowledge.
I don't like a game where people are classified and given unjustified advantage over others.
This is just a game after all....

What does it matter if it's in the game, OP? How does it impact you directly by being in the game?
Is this just a rant because you can't do it or do you legitimately have a reason that it should be removed, and if so what is that reason?

You don't need macros or a fancy mouse to weave or cancel.

Didnt want to mention the reason. You did. So i have nothing more to hold on.
Watch ANY of "end game elite" guides and you may notice they have not a single mistake in rotation/not one.
Even when they switch from class to class.
I know what practice mean. I also know what hand memory mean. And i also know that hand memory can trick you when you switch from one class to another (atleast the first few minutes)
Noticed it both in pvp and pve videos (almost all of them) ppl do no mistake.
Even when they talk with wievers or watch the second monitor, they rotation execute is perfect all the time.
We are humans, we are not perfect...
Just alow the macros like in other games or disable them at all.
Macros are forbiden in EsO but you can still use them if you pay 150$ for mouse ?
I can see why all this macro users and scripters buzzing like a kicked hive every time someone mention removal of A/C
Because without it they are just regular frags

Some of the creators of those tools actually hate the mechanic, and the reason they made those tools was so that they could enjoy end game content without having to deal with a janky cancerous bug mechanic, and their friends wouldn't quit within an hour of being told about this "mechanic".
Trust me, I would know.

Which wont be needed if macros are alowed like in wow, or totaly removed from game.
You dont think?
