Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.
[Suggestion] Rich survey nodes
This is a small QoL for those, who have a lot of survey maps.
Problem definiton:
Imagine you have several surveys in stack (lets say 5). You travel to survey location and farm them. Call you mount and run away from survey location. After reaching certain distance you run back and farm next spawned survey nodes. And you have to do such "ping-pong" minigame 4 times! The more surveys you have, the more time you will spend in repetitive process.
How to solve:
- 'Rich' nodes, wich could contain xN raw mats (where N is the amount of current investigating surveys in stack).
- Introduce LARGE survey maps. And an npc or some sort of service in the game which is used to transform every 10 simple survey maps into 1 large survey map with x10 reward.
- Simplest solution is to change survey node respawn logic. After harvesting survey, system starts countdown timer (3 or 5 seconds). When countdown expires, system respawns new survey nodes. I dont understand why developers did not implemented it that way.
- Another solution
The best QoL surveys could get would be for the survey to direct us to a place that has 1 giant node that your character can strike 6 times (12 without CP passive) that if you have 2 surveys, you get to strike it 12 times (24 without CP passive), and so on. It is just one super node that your character will just keep smacking until you run out of surveys.
This way, you won't need to keep running away and back again, which is probably the most tedious part of survey farming.
PS: I understand that survey system's (as well as treasure maps) intention is to give a player some exploration mini quests, the reason to TRAVEL and EXPLORE.
