STAM SORC got the short straw in this PTS

ZOS, you stated class identity was coming for so long and you gave stam sorc a lack luster relentless focus. Not only that but you take away weapon skill stuns. weapon skills are secondary for all of the other spec's but for stam sorc it is the only thing available. streak is not the answer, it's still is shock damage, so the scaling is completely off no matter how much max stat you have as a stam spec.

Playing on the PTS as a stam sorc feels like you forgot to pick a class all while watching other players use useful class stuns and skills.

    It's a dswing problem.

    They nerfed the dmg, then buffed the dmg, now they are neerfing the dmg again... 3 patches in a row lol.
    Take the 18% dmg, if they really need to, but leave the damn stun. 4 Stam classes basically become un useable without it.
    Your not killing someone with just birds, skulls, rocks or whatever the hell stamsorcs can use other then dswing lol.

    My proposed idea was this for Dizzying swing,

    Make cast time back to 1.0s leave dmg and stun.
    Leave cast time 0.8s take dmg leave stun.
    Leave cast time 0.8s take dmg take stun add major fracture.

    Honestly the off balance replacement is laughable. With the change to knockback animation people should have no problem with dsynch assuming ZoS did a proper job.... THAT was the reason people though dizzy was op new cast time + knockback animation being broken since like forever just no on cared.

    Also onslaught needs to be touched, I haven't really thought about good balancing for it but it is quite the outlier now

    They can take my onslaught if they leave my dizzy alone. Or get to the real problem and give stam sorc proper damaging stam class skills FFS.

    This problem magnifyies the fact stam sorc as a class has no skills and when you nerf the last skills left you end up with a shell of a class. Even stam sorc bleed builds are trash, dizzy is trash, sword and board is trash, bow is trash. But other classes have loaded kits that make them good. They even left the notes on the bound armor changes out of the patch notes come on

    Yeah man stam sorcs got ***. But you know what, roll a mag warden or go home honestly. Because were all just gonna be standing around doing no damage and if thats the meta you might as well have major protection and constant minor maim.

    Eh.... I’m inclined to say you should try out different builds. Dizzy swing was really OP and even as a stam player in U23 myself I keep spamming it because it really is a no brainer free 10 kill streak kind of skill. They’re focusing a bit more on the off balance mechanic which is actually nice. People get to learn partial charge heavy into stuns instead of getting a free stun spammable that dealt over 10k damage. Off balanced targets also takes more damage too, so I think his is a health change overall even with all the complaints because U23 is seriously pretty damn boring as stam classes in pvp mostly went for 2h DD.

    Stam sorcs got a new ability they just forgot them in the patch notes. Bound armaments got reworked into a dps ability.

    We know, It's a cheap rip off of nightblade's focus. Which BTW is really hard to see how many daggers are up with Hurricane active.

    Most stamsorcs went for 2h because they gutted SnB's spam and shortened the cast time on Dizzy. Why? Because the class has no *** spammable. Flurry is bad, silver shards is ranged, Psiijic "spam" is clunky in lag.

    Oh, and in CP pvp everybody and their mother who runs Dizzy also has the tactician CP passive. You know what it does? It sets people off balance.

    With what does it leaves us? A redundant off balance, a choice of weak ass spammables, an insignificant proc that was stolen from NBs and a stun that is again rip off of nightblades in the FG skill line. Great. I really feel the class identity flowing.

    Honestly don’t feel too bad. Everyone got the short straw. For stam classes the only thing left is to spam your spammable and dump an ult once in a while. An entire half of the equation was deleted with the over nerf of dots. I don’t see myself dying to many 1v1s against stam classes. Mag sorc is actually looking pretty good.

    While we're at it, I did a few parses on PTS. Beside the ususal drop in dps I did what others suggested on here, filling the front bar with dmg multipliers and just keep endless hail on back for glyph proc, then spam my spam. I did even come ahead a bit instead of throwing dots mixed with a spam.

    Anyway, we got a few weeks left, let's hope they realize their mistakes.

    Even though as a magSorc i'm really getting the urge to say that magical word "adapt", but i won't, or did i already...
    But yea, even though i never use it, i'ts obvious that removal of the stun will cripple build diversity for stam specs quite significantly, especially on stamSorc. That is always bad.
    Also, agree on your comment that magSorc could be nice next patch. That new immobilize/snare immunity looks jummy + bug fix on Surge not providing Major Sorcery(yea i look at it as a bug fix), just in time to drop Entropy.

    Stamsorc is looking better than last patch. That new bold escape is insanely good. Bound armaments might make it back on my bars too.

    AS for class identitiy, this is however complete lackluster. Half the passives are still locked because there's no skills to use.

    You sir didn't use dizzy in update 23 huh. Glorious could only begin to express how good it is.

    I have been using dizzy for a good 4 years back when dw was a much better main hand weapon. On stam sorc. Then they buffed it and years of timing and dizzy light attack weaves became even more useful. Learning the hit box on dizzy, learning to 180 dizzy swing a player that tried to walk thru you. Charging a heavy attack during the dizzy animation, all skill that is now meaningless.

    Killing unexperienced people is a free 10 kill streak anyways. I've been using dizzying swing since it was wrecking blow and did both empower and stun (talk about OP) the ALMOST had the skill balanced. The reduce in cast time was as a start they need to tone back the damage like they are doing butt leave the stun. AND if they remove the stun give it something useful not off balance. And the skill does not do 10k damage... maybe on the tool tip but not in actual combat its more around the 6k mark give or take. I find it hard to believe by your comments that you've played 2h very long at all.

    It sucks. After testing on pts I don't think it's worth the stam cost at all, I do more damage when I don't use it, and it doesn't even have any secondary affect, just wasting stam to deal pointless damage.

    Not to mention that the one thing they did to add class flavor, they did completely wrong. Bound Armaments needs to summon bound weapons for you to use, not silly daggers that stick to your head like antlers.. -_-

    Well welcome to magplars world they give then they take away constantly, we where good at aoe damage now they nerfed it 2 patches in a row to non existant. We had good dots finally ranged builds was possible and we didnt have to go meele for all our damage and now they take it away, and we are back to meele only specs.

    I would just have removed the knockback from dyzzying swing it was the biggest problem, the animation was so long that you could not break it right away, if its a stun you can break it before you die atm its impossible to break it before land on the grounds again and die.

    Now they are creating another problem with dyzzying swing instead easy acces to offbalance for mag sorcs so they can spec tanky and still kill people in seconds with power overloads 70% bonus damage bonus from offbalance.

    This new bound arments is a cheap Grim Focus ripoff but hey! It's a NB player balancing the game wth.

    From the stream it's clear to me that the PVP lead guy was lost, he was making comments out of place like talking about changes from last patch, having no clue what he was reading and Guillain stepping in and clarifying things. So it's clear to me at least, that almost all the burden of the new balance changes are on him.

    No surprise our Stamsorc identity is NB LOL! :lol:

    Ugh I tried it, but personally never liked the playstyle. It doesn't matter though, there's tons of options to play a stamsorc, I for myself have sticked to DW for as long as I can think of. The wrecking blow impacts every other stambuild equally. Stamdens and stamdks use it just as frequently. The nerf to one weapon ability doesn't make stamsorc a bad class, this is nonsense.

    The way they increased "identitiy" of the stamsorc class itself however is a different topic...

    I know I get lumped on when I come out against sorcs, but as someone that loves my stamsorc, they aren't as bad as some make them out to be.

    At most, I'd like to see a physical damage morph of an ulti like atro (give us an air atro or something).

    But I feel I have plenty of class identity on my stamsorc. I run around in a ball of lightning, I have a great HoT always running, I have a unique buff to light attacks and stam just for having an ability on my bar that now has another use as well, I can trade magicka for stam and health. I know some want a class spammable and rarely do most class spammables replace a weapon spammable, but I don't guess the option would hurt to have one available.

    As for the talk going into Uppercut - that's not a stam sorc only ability. And players crutch on this too hard. ZoS kept buffing it time wise to make it better for use as a DPS skill in PvE and it never got there, but got to be so fast in PvP that desync's and PNG become a bigger factor in landing it that skill now. It also didn't fit zos' whole strat of no high damage CC skills, so it needed to go. There is a reason you saw everyone crutching on this for a stam build in pvp. (though to be fair, stam users need some crutches right now with the state of medium armor in pvp)

    However, I would have left one morph with a knockdown (maybe adding major fracture like one poster suggested) and have it do little to no damage and also push the cast time back up to 1.5 seconds (def not .8 sec though). And then put the damage and secondary effect like off balance on the other morph and leave that one at the faster cast time.

    I have to disagree here. It was the blast stun and cast time setup that made overload heavy attack flourish pre-nerf. Off balance will give some damage back (single target). It’s actually nowhere near a 70% buff even if that’s what it’s “meant” to be. It’ll only make up for the loss of damage from changing blast for dizzy. In fact it will hit less without getting the stun, aswell as being clunkier.

    every medium armor stam user will be running blackrose DW front bar with bow backbar for CC, removing the stun doesn't create diversity it just forces us to use class skills to "create" identity. for classes with no reasonable stun (necro I'm looking at you) we are forced into a bow.

    I'm all for removing the stun and dropping dizzy, I honestly don't like using it. but give every class a targeted CC then for gods sake!!!!!
