We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Change to Brass will lead to one result

People will deconstruct it and just play pariah which gives the same 2,3,4 pc bonuses but grants up to 11k additional resistances depending on your missing health.
The only time brass will be slightly better is around 95% health afterwards it gets outrun like a fiat panda competing in Formula 1.

Also let's not even mention armor master here right, more health and more resistances who would even use that

Nerf all of them if you think brass is too strong but don't just nerf one set while the 2 others have been better all the time

Armour master requires an armour skill to get anything from it and pariah is heavy which requires damage to get the bonus out of the 5 piece

Point 1: Other than a heavy armor build, light armor and medium builds aren't gimping themselves by running an Armor ability. It's actually kind of standard to run one lol.

Point 2: Pariah jewelry comes in all sorts and you can Transmute.

It is heavy, but running jewelry allows you to wear 5l 2h or 5m 2h. If you use Pariah weapons and jewelry, you can do anything. Also, Pariah does give bonus a part 5p bonus at 100% health. I believe it is around 2600 at 100% health. It's a very old post, but someone broke it down like this:

    At 100% Health: 2.600
    At 90% Health: 3.440
    At 80% Health: 4.280
    At 70% Health: 5.120
    At 60% Health: 5.960
    At 50% Health: 6.800
    At 40% Health: 7.640
    At 30% Health: 8.480
    At 20% Health: 9.320
    At 10% Health: 10.160
    At 0% Health: 11.000

Armor master requires slotting an armor skill and maintaining the buff. It can be back barred which is good. Brass was a flat bonus that required no effort or resources to maintain. Pariah scales off missing hp.... it's better at low health. That's a fair trade. They compared brass to hunding in terms of the power they wanted the set to provide.

299÷129=2.3 (rounded) so hunding 5th piece is equal to 2.3 of a normal weapon damage bonus.

3460÷2975=1.2(rounded) so the new brass 5th piece is equal to 1.2 of a normal resist bonus.

2975×2.3=6842.5 looks like they should have buffed brass for the hundings statement to ring true.

    3460÷1487(armor pen set bonus)=2.3(rounded)

Well I guess they mathed it wrong. Or made the wrong comparison. Brass basically cancels out spriggans and spinners now.

Pariah is going to be the BiS defensive set for PvP...

Who cares about Fortified Brass, its a 4 trait crafted armor set that gave way too much bonuses for a 4 trait.

Comparing Brass 4 trait armor to sets locked behind dungeons is a joke.

    Probably, helps vs onslaught too.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

a set bonus for armor resists is 1487 now, not 2975, like it ought to have always been. so it looks like you mathed it wrong, not ZoS.

Doesn't chudan give you the same bonuses with only 2 pieces

That is the major buff, resolve, that does not stack with other sources of that buff. All the other sets that are being talked about in this thread do. Completely different and this fact makes chudan trash.

I liked that pariah made medium and light viable in a heavy armour meta.

I've already started testing out armour master in medium with shuffle and feels good man.

This. It felt nice to use it but it was... disappointing when it goes to survivability, I can count at least few sets that are much better than brass on live but won't mention any of them because they will be nerfed to.

Tldr; brass nerf is pointless as it's already far from being BiS defensive set.

    — They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.

The way I see it vs. Pariah is that with Brass you can take expected damage at all times vs. all the other sets in comparison (and swift is a PvP-only set).

The power to predict exactly how much damage you will take or do in PvP combat after a single exchange is extremely valuable, and exactly why I don't use proc sets in most of my builds unless I can keep the buffs up at or near 100% of the time.

Pariah gives a buff that scales when your hp is lower. While it seems strong on paper, its not going to help in reality vs. anyone when you're already in execute range or already dead because the damage was timed all at once and you went from 100% to 0%, or got CCed at low health. That's exactly why Brass is more popular.

Other defensive sets need active proc conditions to keep up, meaning they have a cost associated with the resistance buff. That's also a lot different than the current Brass on live, and likely why ZOS will not touch them.

Swift is a set meant for PvP, so I doubt ZOS will bother touching it. Also it has a mag bonus, and provides % based reductions which now have a cap and don't have secondary functions associated with them through sets (see Alessian Order, which might get nerfed itself in the future once ZOS realizes how this is really being used :D ).

No! Stop with nerfs! Don't nerf those sets. Better remove the nerf form Brass. This is a great set for newbies to survive in PvP as they can't be expected to keep all of their buffs during combat.

So they shouldn't have drawbacks for being bad?
Bad players who make mistakes should always get punished for it and not be able to get away because sets are giving them a free pass
