I don’t have the right to expect to solo a World Boss
For PC players, there's always the option of soloing any WB you could possibly want - on the PTS :)

The PTS is great if you want to try soloing any of the overland content which is normally being camped by hordes of other players.

Of course anything you do on the PTS won't carry over to your main account - but as far as I'm concerned, if I can solo a boss on the PTS, I'm fine with just leeching it on live server to mark it as cleared. :)

Just jump in. If their health bar is looking like it's seen fuller days, toss 'em a heal. Just don't obliterate mobs before they've had a chance to tag anything.

If someone is dealing with a mob or boss, don't steal the chest or harvest node next to them. That's not cool.

If someone looks like they're trying to solo a World Boss or Dolmen, should you:

    1) Watch until they've finished. Then wait until it re-spawns.
    2) Watch, and only jump in if they get in trouble.
    3) Just jump in regardless.

    ???

    Jump in

I am good enaugh to solo most bosses, but they are often quite annoying and exhausting, so I am happy if someone jumps in to make it easier for me. And when I do bosses solo, I do it to farm their loot or for some sort of quest/achievement/etc. and because I couldnt be bothered waiting for more players before I start.

World bosses and dolmiens are so easy and drop so fast that I usually simply scramble to get a LA on them to get the loot and exp :D

You should definitely do what you want. There is no wrong from those three responses, they can all be equally right, depending on what you like to do. No one can claim solo tag on WB's or Dolmens.

Though obviously dont do anything with the explicit purpose of annoying others, but that goes without saying, but now I said it anyway.

I would add... If someone is going through their inventory while next to a node or chest, don't steal the chest or harvest node while they're trying to find something to destroy to make room for the goodies that they couldn't pick up but didn't want to leave behind.

I don't usually set out to solo world bosses. But sometimes starting to solo them is more convienient than waiting around for more players. But it's always going to be a better time if players join in rather than spectate. Really cuts the time to kill on the wb with others.

I shrugged it off. I already have a bit of Kuta, so it wasn't like I was desperate for it-- but I do use it for enchanting rather than selling it, so one more would have been nice. And even though I shrugged it off, my first reaction was to shout out an unkind name at the player! :D

Heh, that's the kind of thing I silently seethe at...for weeks :D Then again, since I stopped doing writs, my kuta stock is far below pathetic levels.

Personally, I have no problem with people jumping in if I start something solo. More the merrier.

I just had one time that I jumped in on a dolmen that someone was solo on. Afterwards, they mentioned that they were trying to see if they could solo it. They weren't angry or anything about it, just were trying to personally challenge themselves. So now I tend to wait until I see someone gets to about half life or comes running towards me before I jump in with a solo person.

My NA main is a master crafter, and occasionally I'll craft gear for other players. It used to be that I'd always put legendary enchantments on gear, even if the gear was only epic, especially after I read that upgrading crafted gear to legendary doesn't upgrade the enchantment as well, the way it does with dropped gear. And since I had a nice stack of Kuta saved up, I didn't give it a second thought. But then my Kuta stack got down to about 15 IIRC, and that's when I became aware of how much it sells for at guild traders. So now I don't treat Kuta quite as casually as I used to!

Anyway, since this thread is about etiquette, I thought I'd mention it. We can choose to not get bent out of shape over other players' bad etiquette, but if bad etiquette bothers us then it's best not to engage in it ourselves and add to the problem. "But everyone else is doing it" isn't a good excuse. :)

Just jump in, it's open world content. Especially on WB's- most people are happy for the DPS when they have been soloing it. Dolmens adjust on number of people around it.

Just remember to check they are getting tags on the mobs and keep them alive, and wait for them to get up before you destroy the final boss, etc.

In public dungeons, most time if I see someone near the start i'll team up with them so we can get through it faster...

I tend to mudball inconsiderate chest and node thieves. Or people on their mounts in an enclosed place (e.g. Jesters’ tents during the event). If only I could actually mudball some manners into them.

I jump in unless all 3 of my special conditions are met, or my bonus condition.

    Special Conditions

    1. It is pretty late at night
    2. The person soloing has a handle on it
    3. I don't need it

The reason for those is because I know some people like to challenge themselves and wait until it's empty to do it.

    Bonus Condition

    1. I just don't feel like helping

I was doing one of those celestial portals in craglorn, where there first will be like 3 waves of mobs to kill and after that a huge boss.

Was struggling abit with killing the boss, at one point another player just walked right through the boss and me while fighting and didnt join in, in my head I was like pleeeeeeeeeeese help me :) werent able to type in chat help me, or I would had died

But he just went away :(

I did beat it, but as many said its a mmo, and in the end I had hoped he would had jumped onboard the fight train, I probably would even had said thanks for helping afterwards

If there is a fight going on I'll jump in. If they look like they are waiting for their group members or something , I'll wait.

I think I've been whispered to *** off once ever, and that was on another game. (I did and came back bit later to find the body of that person.)

Edit: Of course, I'm fine if someone jumps in when I am myself soloing a wb or dolmen.

    It depends if I also need the WB or dolmen, if not, and the player is in trouble, I will help, but if they look like they got it, I will leave them be. I usually help out in overland content if I see someone killing mobs, it's kind of an automatic reaction, but then I do think, what if they wanted to see if they could kill them by themselves and I ruined that ^^;;;
