Yes if its was optional, and it should not be enabled be default to protect newbies.
But an option to flag yourself for open pvp would be nice.
Then it would be useless, just like optionaly pvp in pve wow, horse enter an aliance city, none is in pvp until all swich and wipe them.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

    No.

An open world zone might be okay, but there might be a big fuss over PVP getting a dlc.

Open the rest of the world to PVP, but make it opt-in like the original EverQuest had, and make Cyrodiil the same (opt-in for PVPers, but open to PVEers who don't opt in).

Both PVPers and PVEers would gain access to new content.

Nah. I prefer no gankers while I'm questing. PVP is a choice, set in a specific area. Let it be. I come into this game for fun and relaxation, not competition.

If you want to actually fight other players, whenever and wherever you meet them, there's the duelling system. If you want the ability to fight big groups of people there's Cyrodiil. (And also Battlegrounds for more traditional team PvP.)

You've even got the option to gank other players without giving them a fair chance to react by going to Cyrodiil or the Imperial City (if you especially want to gank people who are just trying to play PvE).

Under those circumstances the only reason I can think of for wanting full open-world PvP is even people trying to do quests in the Imperial City are not an easy enough target and you want to be able to pick off new players who don't yet know to disable open-world PvP.

The first and foremost reason most want open world PvP is so they can gank helpless PvE questers who leave the bounds of player hubs.

See subject line. It would be fun to kill newbies all across Tamriel IMO. Waiting for them to timidly venture out to level up while you are hiding behind the trees in anticipation and BAM! Corpseapoloclypse! Kind of like DAoC used to be.

No. Only way I could see it as "okay" would be optional with a "flag up" selection in the character screen, so those who want to do so can only pvp with others similarly flagged (like both wow and rift did back when I played them).

I told you in the other thread where you sprouted this nonsense. Your playing the wrong game, stop trying to turn this game into something it’s not.

There's always one...it's a stupid idea, usually brought up by people who fail in pvp and so want to get their thrills killing enemies that literally can't defend themselves so the Pker can get his jollies and pretend he is a decent player.

that wont happen because you will be able to toggle on / off to allow pvp.
it will be set to auto OFF pvp.
the only people you will be able to kill are those who forcibly turn ON pvp flagg and decide to pvp willingly.

Didn't FO 76 have open world PvP? Those who didn't want to PvP and focus on PvE had an option to not get killed ... but last I heard people found a way to kill them anyways.

Seriously? You’re one of those who like to troll newbies? I played SWTOR on a server with open world PvP and trolls ganking newbs were quickly put down by the other side.

You could go hunt rabbits or something if it helps your ego to kill something that can’t properly fight back.

Your point? Every other week there's one or two threads asking for "PvE only version" of Cyrodiil/IC, yet someone suggests open world PvP and every casual comes out of the woodwork to shoot the thread down. Kinda funny that people want to remove the only two areas that promote PvP but are deadset against any form of open-world PvP.

Open world would be nice, if they implemented it right (completely shut out to anyone below a certain CP threshold, opt-in only), but let's face it, the devs would completely butcher implementation.

I would enjoy it. Just make it an optional thing so people don't feel forced. But make it so everyone you encounter is someone who is opting in.

Yes I'd like it. I've been open world pvping since ultima online. To me it adds another layer of danger which is something this game is seriously lacking. Without open pvp server choices there would have to be a toggle to be able to flag yourself as ready for pvp and for when your not but it would and has worked in many other mmos. Having something like this would not effect pve'ers at all while giving pvpers another mode of gameplay.

Cyrodiil, IC & BGs are fine for me. Open world PVP might sound like a cool idea but I reckon it'd just end up a whole lotta riding around trying to find opponents. Camping for enemies is too boring.

You are correct that it will not happen. If Zos was not interested in creating a toggle to opt in/out for the justice system they are not going to be interested in making one for the entire game.

I have a better idea. Let's implement a system where when a player ganks a newbie - the newbie gets to rise up as a ghost and follow that person around while invisible - waiting until the opportunity presents itself then gank them back while they in the middle of a fight. That way we can spread some of this so-called "fun" around more.

Out of all the ideas I have read over the years, this one gets 10/10 for being the worst.

Well done; it really takes the biscuit.
