New PvP Idea

Hey guys, what you think do we need 1 vs 1 PvP tournament?
Like every tornament lasts 1 week, total players can sign in is 32. Matches will take place in special arenas and at predetermined time. Who are late to battle thay will automatically lose. Because of heavy builds we will have timer like 3 minutes on each fight. And every pair of players will duel 2 rounds to make sure true winner(3 rounds if draw). Prizes will be for only 1st, 2nd and 3th places. Also winner of the tournament will be available to create his/her own big statue in predetermined place for it. So the player can dress costume or outfit and make a big statue of it. Statue will be changing for every tournament week.

Also we can add to this many interesting things: special prizes, special items in crown store for only tournament winners and so on... Anyway lets vote and see if community likes the idea

If you were to do this you would want 32 players instead of 30. Easier to make your bracket. Special items in crown store is a bad idea and probably a no go anyway because ZoS wants those items available to as much of the player base as possible. Special prizes would need to be cosmetic only.

There are guilds that hold dueling tournaments and often offer some form of reward for winning.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Yes there are guilds who are holding, but implemented by ZOS will be better imho

There have been 1v1 PvP tourneys. They are player run as they should be.

I agree. A tournament would be fun for a lot of players. I was mostly pointing out the prizes for winning can't be to great and wonderful because the vast majority of players have no interest in dueling. I could see some specific titles and achievements, maybe a costume and trophies as furniture. And a big ole pile of gold?

The guild remark was simply a reminder.

I doubt Zos has much interest in running such a tournament. The player base has proven that there is no money in PvP and Zos is not exactly a charity.

If anything I could see them doing leader boards for duelers. They would need to add something like an MMR so that it couldn't be gamed by people throwing matches to another. Along with a queue for the duels. A win would give you points while a loss takes some away. End of the cycle reward emails are sent out to player based on rank.

Nah, all the pvp playerbase has proven is that the majority of pvp players who joined this game for its advertised RvRvR endgame will leave due to a *** launch and constant *** performance.

idk guilds work hard to implement rules to limit cheesy builds and exploiting, ZOS wouldn't be able to do that.

They left long ago Players begged for BGs since early into the game. Zos had to make it part of the base game because so few ponied up for it. Heck, even the GF issue did not start until after it hit the base game. You can argue around that all you wish but the business people at Zenimax see the real facts.

Due to the non competitive nature of this game I would be against that. 1v1 tournaments should be run by players unless the devs want to completely redesign each class. This game relies on builds not skill and so no 1v1 tournaments should be official.

Guilds already run these. One of the guilds I’m in on PS4 ran a one on one tourney with about 40 people from Hammerdeath Arena in Stormhaven and it was very successful. Barrel of laughs.

Yes, they left well before morrowind. So I doubt their data after bg release would be a good example of the potential profit of the pvp playerbase.

for good or bad ESO has nothing to do with

competitive PvP like arenas or tournaments

the combat system in ESO is good for fun

but not for competition because of many resons

(i'm not saying it is bad, it is just what we have)

and i'm not even gonna mention lag/performance

factor which has a very big influence in this game

because of fast paced nature of ESO's combat
