It seems that the game client is very poorly coded, certain kinds of lighting effects cause EXTREME framerate drops and stuttering.
For example, opening the blue glowing chests in the IC is extremely hard for me, because in the lockpicking minigame the framerate drops to about 5FPS and the "feedback" is greatly delayed, resulting in a lot of broken picks and failed time limits.
A similar problem happens with the DK banner ulti: when dropping the ulti on 10+ enemies, the game locks up completely for over half a second because of the bugged lighting effect being rendered on a large number of mobs.
I think the solution is for Zos to fix it. Asking an entire class to not use advantageous passive is not likely to happen. Just saying, not arguing there is an issue.
i can't be the only one who initially thought this was a veiled attempt to get idiots to actually disable a strong pvp passive right? :P

I’ve also discovered that there still seems to be a memeory leak associated with ritual or rune cage. Disabling sacred ground helps stave it off but it eventually comes back.

There are still a number of memory leak triggers in this game (even outside of templar skills). I'm hoping all of this will be addressed in update 24. They said this update will include an overhaul of the game's memory management system.

Obviously I agree, but they haven’t even acknowledged it and it was reported firs over two months ago. I’ve already made a bug thread with video samples and tagged the devs in it I’m just trying to help people get along till then.
Wait, what? It's been fixed? It took Zos how long until they acknowledged the new and improved in-combat bug they introduced last year and how long afterwards until they fixed it?
Working fine for me.On the subject of abilities causing stutters, is anyone else experiencing stutters or frame drops from the ability "Turn Evil"?
This started happening to me about 3 or 4 days ago. Maybe since the last Monday morning patch? Idk. Had a few happen on stream where I literally went to 0 fps... and I have a separate, dedicated streaming computer so no, it’s not the streaming that’s causing it.
Disabling the “Action Duration Reminder” addon had a huge impact in helping me with the FPS drops.

Yes it’s definitely related though I don’t believe it’s the only cause. For me I noticed still a drop in performance after about another hour. Keep tabs on how you do without that addon after some time. Ultimately I think there’s a deeper issue with that skill line and ADR just exacerbates it.
