PVP -> penetration or spell power?

I like battlegrounds and I'm not sure what is the most recomendable, if penetration or spell power? What can you tell me guys?

I'm sorry I don't know what that cap is off the top of my head, but you could definitely work it out - and then just don't go over that number.

There is no smth for ANY mag class. One is better with pene, second with sd, third when stack max mag. You know that in noCP there is no one-build meta right?1 -

Yea basicly. Penetration is better for damage but doesn’t help healing in any way. If you use enough weapon power buffs like 5 medium or lots of weapon power buffs (fighter’s guild abilities) then weapon power can be better than pen.
Magicka don’t have spell power buffs like stam do from skill lines or medium armour so pen’s always better.

Depends on the player. Starter BGs it can be as low as 10k, the higher the MMR the higher the resistances up to 30k.Looking for any guildies I used to play with:

30k is possible but no someone with a pure DD build...
That’s not true because of bloodspawn. I’m at 26k with procs in 5 light.

✭✭People are tanky AF nowadays. You don’t want to build for spell damage OR penetration. You want to build for spell damage AND penetration.
Or REALLY, rather, damage and penetration, whether you’re getting the damage from building for max mag, high spell damage or a combination of both.
Be mindful though, that the cap is 33k resistances and at that they are only mitigating 50% of your damage. Your pen is subtracted from their mitigation and then things like blocking, SnB passives, wings, minor protection etc are all multiplicative so no one is going to block over 100% of your damage. It’ll always be some number under 100%. (Though some can get into the 90%). SO, add some pen, fool!2
