    Surprised no one has mentioned the history of rare baits:

    IN THE BEGINNING... the rare baits gave an increased chance of catching colored fish. During the fishing overhaul all baits were given the same chance of catching rare fish. ZOS said the rare baits were useless... but never removed them from the game.

    Not sure why they still exist, other than no one ever bothered pulling that part of the code.

    Wow... just wow. I mean, not World of Warcraft, just wow...
    I had missed that thread from Elias and... wow. It's just amazing. Plain amazing. Thanks for linking it.
    Someone... I mean... at least ONE person does master angler on 30 characters. I knew about that bit. But I didn't know about the statistics.
    I mean... they're not meant to prove himmself right or wrong. They're not for making a statement or proving a point. Just for documenting just about everything that can be documented about ... fishing in a video game. That's not even primarily about fishing. And this documentation is presented in the cleanest, most professional way possible. And not for showing off or anything, just for... the sake of it. And months later, we happen to find that information extremely useful to answer a sensible question.
    That's the closest I've ever seen to "play how you want", or, more generally, do your own thing with what's given to you. Some may call this OCD, I call it true freedom.
    And if what I'm writing makes no sense, it's normal. I'm kind of... speechless :-)

    You right click on the image to view it. If it's an .mp4, or a .gifv, you can try changing the extension to .gif yourself. Often Imgur knows what to do with that and will give you the .gif version, which the forums can display. Not 100% reliable, though.

    I've got so many of these memes I can never use on these boards.

    Not really.

    It just requires you to stay awake sufficiently (easier said than done, to be fair) as to notice the line twitching and reel it in.

    I appreciate the breakdown, but I mostly do this stuff on mobile.
