Voting "I don't care" just means you would have the same opinion of the game you have today whether if you could or couldn't.

Not even sure why/if there is an issue with that. Is there a lore related reason why Daedra can't die (as in reduce their health to zero) that I'm unaware of?

Honestly, if this is lore related, I'd be more concerned that I can thrash my way across Cryodiil, become emperor, enter Molag Bal's daedric realm and crush him like an ant only to return home and be utterly annihilated by a guard because I dared to accidentally pick up an apple when the guild vendor NPC stepped slightly to the right as I attempted to speak with him.

Killing them isn't supposed to be this simple. Maybe for minor Daedra, yes, but not the rest of them.

Have you seen the general NPC population fight? I have and they suck. Even the Undaunted, supposedly mighty warriors will engage with a single trash mob for minutes at a time, then complain about it when I come finish off the last 95% of its health. I think for 99.9999% of Tamriel's population, any fight is something they would lose. We are heroes and with that comes the power that most normal people can only dream of. We're special and it shows in game. We do things that NPC's can't possibly do such as deliver important notes to far away lands and chase the Prophet from the entrance of Daggerfall all the way back 20 feet to the Harborage over and over.

If they removed the requirement to use an enchanted weapon to kill Daedra and ghosts because it's inconvenient, then you might as well remove the requirement to gain levels in order to unlock skills.

Meh? Daedra werent very hard to defeat in TES Oblivion either, when my Hero of Kvatch was slaughtering them left and right.

In the single player games, Daedra are a threat that should be left for higher level players to mess with. In TES3, if you encountered Daedra, it was a pretty good indicator that you wanted to go someplace else for awhile, until you'd fully matured into a badass monster slayer.

Oblivion toned this down a bit, as the Daedra were a handful for new characters, but by the time you got to level 5, they'd become very manageable.

In Skyrim, Daedra were just kinda, "there," sometimes, and they weren't any more dangerous or difficult than most of the things in that game.

Ignoring Oblivion and ESO for a moment, Daedra are also supposed to be rare enemy types. You don't encounter them often, and they're dangerous when you do. ESO and Oblivion both deal with daedric invasions of Nirn, so, as a result, the inverse rule of ninjas applies.

I don't mind how common they are because it's an invasion but I think there should be something to make them more fearsome and definitely an obstacle at early levels.

You'd need a different base story premise then. It's hard to escape a daedric prison without cracking a few daedric skulls.

Alright, well how about alternative ways to get past the Daedra? Something that gives them a prime enemy vibe or add very minor Daedra to the tutorial

I mean, if you want to be that adherent to base lore, you could probably do it. But it would do two things to ESO's story that eouldn't be optimal:

    1. It would make the Big Bad look like Big Bird. Why would it be so hard to rescue Sai Sahan or Lyris from prison later if Molag Bal was such a weenie? They could break out on their own just like the Vestige. Or any of the other Soul Shriven, for that matter.

    2. The beginning would be far less epic if all you had to do is face a few scamps and banekin. You'd feel nothing to lure you into the story.

I'm not so concerned by the idea of fighting daedra, so much as the idea of fighting Daedric Princes. I mean, many of the starting quests from the expansions will have you fighting and defeating Daedric Lords and Princes before you're level 5.

I like One Tamriel, but quests like this should be level locked or at least STORY locked.

Most of the Daedra the Vestige is dealing with โ€” from the Wailing Prison onward โ€” are what I consider to be (and, if you listen to in-game conversations among the Daedra, along with reading various in-game tomes) "low-level grunts" who, for the most part, aren't the All-Stars of the Daedric planes.

If you want to get a truer taste of Daedric power, go to the Imperial City and its sewers or take on dungeons and trials that feature Daedric foes. There, you will get a closer approximation of what it truly means to battle the Daedra.

One last thing. Every Daedra you "kill" doesn't really die. If it isn't already in one of the Daedric planes of Oblivion when you "kill" it, its essence, stripped of physical form, will return to such a plane and, over time, regain its physical form and "live" again.

The "water" you see in Coldharbour and in other Daedric planes? It's more or less what they use to regain their physical forms if they're "killed."

But you would think there is some type of obstacle at early levels, otherwise what's the point if leveling up if you can kill 99% of everything right at level 1. If they removed the requirement to use an enchanted weapon to kill Daedra and ghosts because it's inconvenient, then you might as well remove the requirement to gain levels in order to unlock skills.

Uh i dunno what TES game you're referring to, but ESO has NEVER had to use anything special to kill them. That aside, they made everything stupidly easy from Day 1 because people keep bit..... ahem...COMPLAINING.... that its "too hard" to start out in the game. lol

You don't honestly think they got it right the first time with the difficulty changes. That would be so stupidly ignorant. Also, I never said ESO requires you to use certain things to kill Daedra. I swear to god some people try to argue with stuff nobody said.
