I have done that numerous times. A few have actually made it into the game and I have given them credit for doing so. I even helped to bring to light the lag issue with guild roster and they fixed that. Because of those points I gave them extra time and is why I have not just moved on yet. But I am losing patience and becoming exceedingly disappointed.

They do not have to pay for a sub to play the game. They also dont have to make a detailed statement explaining their reasons for unsubbing. That's been covered hundreds of times, for several years, on these forums.
So, in short when you blow off your customers for several years, dont be surprised when they've had enough and stop subbing, or stop playing.

NeroBad✭✭✭✭Explanation is not mandatory, but it helps. When I canceled my renewal I wrote a medium sized comment of the reasons why I canceled it, and what could make me resub again. If someone enjoys the game despite others don't/disappointed it's not a crime, I would recommend unsubbing for those who feels that ZOS are in a wrong direction (also make a comment about why did you do it), but if someone says he/she is fine with the game right I happy for them (and envy them), and I understand their sub.1 -

The “we don’t like your product” mentality is not helpful in bringing about change unless the company knows what they can do to change it. So I ask all those with all the hate, yet time to post, to bring up specific points on what and how ESO can change to make you feel better.
Re: OG post. I believe you cannot cancel your accidental renewal. I have yet to see any company that would allow you to do that. Make sure you cancel it this time and understand that in the future. From cable, cell phone, Netflix, apps, to almost anything; once you use or have renewed a service you cannot undo it.
I'm pretty sure what I listed is what I don't like and it's something they can look into on fixing.0 -

1) This game isn't subscription-based, deal with it. You can call people whatever you'd like, but they purchased the game same as you and will play it as they see fit. Suck it up, buttercup.
2) People have every right to complain about a game that runs like excrement. Between the lag and bugs it's a joke. FFXIV, hell FFXI runs better than this game. And they both came out before it and on older consoles. Enough of the excuses.
3) No one cares what you pay for. You suffer from unwarranted self-importance.
This game has the potential to be the best MMOs, but it's way off the mark. You know due to the fact that people can't play the freaking game adequately? Hell people have a right to leave if they don't like a patch.
Who made you the authority on what grounds people can leave on, and that they should leave if they don't sub. What can possibly be fixed with sycophant-esque people such as yourself trolling about and belittling people for unsubscribing/expressing their opinion.

They mention other games that have come out... as if any other game had the exact same servers/coding/technical issues the ESO has.... is completely equal in all aspects to be compared side by side with ESO.... and therefore declare ESO devs/tech incompetent... without once realizing that literally no two games are alike and no two games can be looked at as if they were supposed to be identical.
The audacity of the "You-are-wrong-and-I-am-right-and-I-will-prove-it-by-calling-you-insulting-names" position.... is so confusing.

@MajBludd agree, but we need at least some players paying to keep this game up. we shouldn't push all of them into cancelling their subscription.

✭It's simple to cancel. Go to your account and cancel your sub. You will then receive an email stating you have requested cancellation. Your sub will remain in effect until it's current expiration date then no longer be in effect. Cancelled mine a long time ago. Was not going to pay for a game riddled with game performance issues. Especially in PvP which is the main reason I play this game anyways.2 -

You can White Knight for this game all you want. It runs like garbage, and it shouldn't. Older games shouldn't run better than it were made in the PS2/3 era. Who wouldn't want to unsub from such a mess.
But by all means defend the guy who stormed in here belittling OP and their choice. Who was also calling people leeches and dismissing their concerns. But oh no I said mean things to him! Why? They earn so much, they should be able to keep the servers going for 2+ years + wages. But instead they pocket that money and barely do the minimum.
They dont deliver, they should not earn money. They made alot already. Maybe its time the money doesnt get pocketed by the upper floors suites, but instead put back into the game. Cant do that? Well sorry Mr. Suit. I am not willing to pay for your stupid snip.

The difference between zos and other MMO companies, most of the others fixate on fixing bugs that came with the new contentfor some time before they start talking about new content. Not ZoS. They only keep talking about new Clown Store Items and new DLC they can SELL people. While the last updates bugs mostly get ignored. See Necros skills. Nothing, literally nothing has been fixed.
And that is not the only example. As soon as they have your money, they dont give a damn anymore.
Even Pearl Abyss/Kakao did a better job with their actual pay to win MMO Black Desert. They fix bugs. Most of them within a week.1 -
