How to cancel ESO +

I renew it by mistake but would like to cancel it.

Go into your account, the options you want are behind the button ‘manage subscription’. Pretty sure that’s the one, I’ve not had to use it for a while.

If payment went through, you need to contact support.
I feel you. My eso+ ran out few days ago. And I did not renew it.
Not worth it for as buggy and broken the game is while zos doesn't do anything to fix it. But keeps filling up crownstore with overpriced garbage and those lame crown trash crates.

The wording used is somewhat misleading, you aren't actually cancelling your ESO+, only your auto-renewal. Any ESO+ that you have already paid for will remain active until it expires on its own.

As @xMovingTarget hs pointed out, if the auto-renewal already happened, you need to either contact customer support (ha! good luck with that!) or just deal with it and try to use up the remaining amount of your ESO+ in a meaningful way.
No biggie if it was a monthly renewal, but if it's something like 6 or 12 months then that would be quite a pain :/

And yeah, I've also cancelled mine a couple weeks ago.
Not worth paying for such a bugged and poorly managed piece of trash :(

Cancelled mine as well. Feels good tbh 😄 that is, no longer financially supporting a game that has been nauseatingly mismanaged more and more as time goes on.

Has anyone successfully gotten a refund for a subscription once it's gone through? Either from customer service or through your credit card (which could result in a ban in some other games afaik).

Yeah, because I was stupid and paid for the 12 month ESO+ a few months back.

When it runs out, if ESO has not improved to the point of "good enough for me" by the time my ESO+ expires, I'm done here.

So you're forcing yourself to play a game that isn't good enough for you, because you've paid money that you aren't going to get back?

@Naftal it would seem @Major_Lag no longer wishes to support them financially because of the bugs that have gone unfixed for some time.

If zos loses enough subs that push them to actually fix the performance issues, along with various bugs instead of ignoring those problems over new content.

I wouldn't exactly call it "forcing". But you would not be very far off, especially if ZOS continues ruining the game at the current rate.
For me, I'd say it boils down to a case of "squeezing any usable value out of the sunk cost".

What I can say with confidence, though - is that since Scalebreaker first hit the PTS, my ESO gaming experience has undergone some pretty drastic changes, mostly for the worse. After it went live, it's been going even further downhill.
I've given up on attempting any "endgame" content, and now only stick to questing/overland and the easier basegame dungeons, I just can't be bothered with ZOS' endless carouself of nerfs. :(

Yeah I'm sick of this Bs game and the standardized meta sets in pvp. With all these godamn sets they have in this game people still run copy cat builds and the most OP sets, and you are either force to go down that route because what you want to run just won't cut it. Let alone I'm tired of being killed while LOS from javelins, destro light and heavy attacks, load screens, and random snares, lag while engaging one person in combat. So much more things that can be listed but I'm done paying this company.

So your un subbing because of the "mismanagement " (clearly you live in the clouds if you think you can do better with how corporates work now days) yet you still going to play the game for free as a you know leech. And most likely still complain, hell when I see posts like this I just throw more money at zos cause I know it upsets some people. Issues or not eso is one of the better mmos out there. In the sea of f2p p2w crap we get each year.

^ There is problem these days. Taking trashy product as granted and keep throwing money at it. That is how you keep making things worse for everyone.
Corporations only work this way today because people like this let them. If you want change, stop rewarding their actions. Its that simple.

I think that’s fair. I enjoy some amount of ESO as a free to play game. But in this current state I don’t want to pay for it because with all the performance issues, bugs and the erratic balancing I don’t feel that I can even take advantage of it fully and that there’s getting to be a pretty hard skill cap in PvP so why would I pay for a game that is offering less and less room to advance with more and more content bring seriously bugged?

LOL, it's your money, do whatever you want with it. It's your problem, not mine - why should I even care? :D

And the last time I checked, ESO is still B2P.
So we can play "all we want" for the initial one-time payment at purchase - although ZOS has done a pretty good job of making the game very annoying to play without ESO+, mostly because of the resulting inventory management hell.

There is no leeching as ZOS gives this a viable means of playing. People choose to show displease with the direction the game by the only means that ZOS listens to, by denial of revenue. The bottom line is how corporations work these days. Effect the bottom line then they look to change to return or improve it.

You do realize that the only way the game would get “better” is if you offered detailed constructive criticism and insight on how they could improve. Instead of saying what you do not like, offer suggestions on how they could improve it. The only time unsubing or boycotting a company has worked is when the people doing so had a list of specific demands.

The “we don’t like your product” mentality is not helpful in bringing about change unless the company knows what they can do to change it. So I ask all those with all the hate, yet time to post, to bring up specific points on what and how ESO can change to make you feel better.

Re: OG post. I believe you cannot cancel your accidental renewal. I have yet to see any company that would allow you to do that. Make sure you cancel it this time and understand that in the future. From cable, cell phone, Netflix, apps, to almost anything; once you use or have renewed a service you cannot undo it.

You know how many people have done that already? Look at the state of the game today. There is absolutely no excuse any of the white knights on this forum could give that would change my perception of the the current state of the game or ZoS as a company at this current point in time. The game will only get better when revenue takes a dive, and they are forced to make drastic changes to turn that around. Until then, every last person still financially supporting this game, playing or not, is part of the problem. Don't bother arguing, as there is no counterargument to this. Personally, I think ZoS will milk this sinking ship of a game as long as possible, and then let it rot before getting to a point of financial failure with it that is big enough to constitute major changes within it; they will just move on to their next IP when it gets to that state.

Look at the threads I posted about necro. I gave up. its completely pointless. Zos doesn't give a damn.
No reply, no acknowledgments. Nothing. They can't be bothered to fix the bugs I encounter on a daily basis to a point I close the game out of frustration. So I don't bother to give them my money anymore.

And how about you show me where I said that I still play? Because I don't. And haven't for months now.

The only thing I see your statements implying as justification for it not being mismanaged is "well that's just how corporations work nowadays) so does that mean we should all just suck it up and continue supporting a game that has been on a steeping decline over recent months that we no longer enjoy or feel morally obligated in supporting just because it's one of the less *** options in a sea of shittier option? Not much logic in that justification. Seems like an argument advocating for a lesser of two evils.

You should show support for your current (and former) fellow communities members by not diminishing someone's point of view just because it doesn't align with your sunshine and candy-cane perception of the game.

Ugh give it a rest. I hope you're being compensated for being White Knight at least. Who comes to a thread on someone asking a simple question and gets mad. How does someone wanting to unsubscribe offend you 😂

    But I'll indulge your nonsense.

    1) This game isn't subscription-based, deal with it. You can call people whatever you'd like, but they purchased the game same as you and will play it as they see fit. Suck it up, buttercup.
    2) People have every right to complain about a game that runs like excrement. Between the lag and bugs it's a joke. FFXIV, hell FFXI runs better than this game. And they both came out before it and on older consoles. Enough of the excuses.
    3) No one cares what you pay for. You suffer from unwarranted self-importance.

This game has the potential to be the best MMOs, but it's way off the mark. You know due to the fact that people can't play the freaking game adequately? Hell people have a right to leave if they don't like a patch.

Who made you the authority on what grounds people can leave on, and that they should leave if they don't sub. What can possibly be fixed with sycophant-esque people such as yourself trolling about and belittling people for unsubscribing/expressing their opinion.

You're simply a whale sweetheart. Nothing more, nothing less.
