Nightblade not fun to play anymore

Iv played my stamblade going on 6 years now. And at first nb was super fun. Ganking was effective and you could play solo very easily if you had skill. Now over the past 2 years the class has been in a serious decline.

Zenimax has steadily and systematically destroyed the rogue play-style. We are being forced to move into the heavy armor meta with very few options of viable gear setups to be competitive against the other classes. Even our burst has been systematically lowered and lowered.

It’s time to stop stripping a rogue style class of rogue style characteristics. And before anyone jumps in saying nbs aren’t a rogue class then why are our skill lines called assassination, shadows, siphoning? If your going to push everyone into a heavy armor meta then you need to add the tools to counter it, and there isn’t much to counter the current meta.

The only way we can affect change is to express our concerns to zenimax and keep pushing to get things fixed

Nobody is going to say NBs are rogues, but im sure people will call you out on claiming the single most op class in pvp is unplayable because you can't instant kill gank people like you could at launch

Never knew that rogues were the only ones to use a stealth base style mechanic.
But I guess that goes with one's personal head canon and interpretation of the generalization of the term "rogue."

Thematically a NB, can be a Shadow Archer/Knight/Mage, Life Stealer, Ranged / Melee Assassin, cliche Rogue/Thief/Thug, Scout, etc.

While, yes, I would like to see a little bit more love for NBs to return (Especially the return of Drain Tanks) - but ganking isn't dead, and many still do it currently in game through adapting, experimenting to find the best for that situation. Sure it may not be 1-2 shots now. Although, those who can, do, and those who can't, die.

Well nb is the rogue class and it has been steadily pushed into a the heavy armor meta corner. And as I said I have played this class exclusively for going on 6 years. I know what I’m talking about. I have had to adapt builds every patch to stay on top. And yes you can still gank but only against the casual player. At current patch a casual Templar can wipe out a hardcore nb because of class imbalance.

I just stuck with my magblade through the years because I really enjoy the Trickster archetype of stealth and spells. It was never not fun for me luckily because I enjoy theorycrafting and changing my builds up a lot but it wasn't easy. Especially during the patches where magblades were total ***. Now it's in a pretty decent spot, so I guess just weather the storm and try something new every now and then.

which is ridicoulos... stam sorc has always been the aoe dot class and now they want to safe class identity by turnig it on its head?

The numbers of stam nb have always been one of the most played classes....why was that?

Now it is in decline you want people to sympathize?

Old nb might now begin to know what it felt like for stamplar, magplar, stam sorc etc that have never been as strong/ high number of players and had to deal with getting better or playing something else. [like all the other classes that didnt have the never ending tool kit]

Sorry if you feel nb is on the receiving end but other classes have had it far worse for far longer.

And as usual when people say NB they think - Stamblade - because disparity between stam and mag nb has brought us to situation when magblades are almost extinct in PvP. Yeah after last update there was a bit more magblades but they vanish quite fast, because suddenly they realise that magblades aren't as fun as they have thought. Sorry but I have no pitty for stamblades which were top dogs of PvP for years, now you are just brought in line with others.

NB is the nuisance class for PvP; particularly the stamblade. No other class can gank you more effectively off your mount from stealth and insta-kill you with multi-hits while you're stunned. Crazy shitt. Radiant Magelight is useless as they can pop back into stealth after a merely 3 seconds.

wont work. event will be done by grps, which means- healers.
single nb cant do much against a grp with a healer. even pve one.

NB's (both Mag and Stam) still my favorite class to play, but I have not pvp'd for some time - so I don't feel qualified to make any comments about the changes in that realm. I have been soloing vet dungeons on my former pvp stamblade, as well as doing vMA and soloing normal DA. Fun for me, because I had not previously attempted these challenges on my NB pvp toons. I took a break from pvp not because of the changes- but mainly because there was so much pve content that I had not done for many of my characters. Someday I will return to pvp and have to learn the new tactics/strategies. But for now, still working the pve circuit.

Most classes need to have their class identity fixed
Magicka nightblade is more towards the siphoning of your enemies blood/draining their souls.
While stam being the stealthy rogue-type character with blades stealthy type gameplay which does include ganking to some extent.

I just made a build yesterday on my nightblade that I won't go into details with, that absolutely shreds people to pieces if played correctly.

NIGHTBLADES ARE NOT, BY FAR, WEAK.

You just can't bull**** gank anymore and that's a GOOD THING. You still get to cloak more than enough too.

I make stam nb and play with fun. Much more funny than my killed dk in stupid 5.1.5+ update.

But hate this game more and more each patch.

That's sort of the strength and downfall of ESO. There are no true class identities. In some ways, this goes back to the ES roots of having freedom to customize your character, but without the actual customization option because it's an MMO.

Honestly, I wish they'd just do away with "classes" completely and let us choose skills at certain levels from a list. Of course, there'd be meta for that too... so there really is no winning.

I'm glad you like to play the weakest dd spec in PvE but some of us prefer magblade to be good dd with bursty damage nature, not dot machine that have less power then other dot machines

Agree. It's amazing how many people are happy with free buff of personal dps this patch without understanding that it came at price of aoe damage, class identity and that this buff to absolutely everybody, so it's not like their character became better, it's simply free increase of stats on generic abilities for everyone.
