I think it’s hilarious when people go out of their way to try and convince others that this game has some kind of ridiculously high playerbase when most of us already know this game is pretty unpopular compared to what else is out there on the market 😂

Interesting statistics! Perhaps we can loosely estimate the number of current "regular" players based on this information. We can get a lot more complicated by defining what "regular" means, but let's leave that bit out for simplicity. Assumption: players who have surpassed the level cap are still enjoying the game. Of the 13 million ESO accounts which exist, a number shy of 1 million actually still play.
Interestingly, the number of ESO players estimated from the site "MMO Population" is ~1.03 million: comfortably close the initial hypothesis.
Who other relevant games? Yes Fortnight has more players, candy crunch has far more.I think it’s hilarious when people go out of their way to try and convince others that this game has some kind of ridiculously high playerbase when most of us already know this game is pretty unpopular compared to what else is out there on the market 😂

I suppose it helps when they do the F2p events, game pass and whatever on PC/PS4 that draws thousands of temporary accounts in.
Let’s break this down a little bit with the simpleton math I can understand. 13 million accounts. 3 platforms. Well say 4 million per platform for the sake of simplicity. If they are roughly equally spread out.
I can’t figure out %7.25 level 50 characters in my head, but I can do %10 real fast. That would be roughly 400,000 accounts to level 50. But it wasn’t %10, it was closer to half that. Which would be 200,000. Plus a little more, I think you could roughly say 300,000 level 50 characters.
Btw, it’s %12.2 level 50 characters on PS4 so you know.
I’ve been told before that those numbers are completely inaccurate, so whatever on that anyways.

Soon they'll be able to add the asterisk *12.9 million accounts in cold storage
So right. Accounts created don't equal active players.

So you figure the servers are struggling because nobody is playing the game? For professional complainers you guys aren’t very consistent in your complaints.
You forget that most of the performance issues the last year is because of too many players.TheRealSniker wrote: »kylewwefan wrote: »Did anyone even notice that? Oh yeah it was 11 million, now the ads say 13 Million players. Tell me how the game is dying ya weirdos.

Cyrodiils main campaign has a player capacity of around 250 people, that campaign isnt hitting high population up until maybe 7-8pm on a weekday.
Forget about queues, ive never been in a queue ever since dragonbones.
That means that the campaign hardly ever hits the maximum capacity.
Meanwhile WoW Classic queues for the pvp server are above 20k. Think the peak was 100k at some point?
So in average there are maybe 200-300 pvp players playing daily? And those numbers are getting lower with every patch.
I can remember when back in murkmire I could still find pvp after 11pm, now its a wasteland.
At least the lag is getting better cause less players bother playing pvp
Those numbers you put out can be easily manipulated
The ad says 11 million as in what? Accounts? Expansions bought? Lmao
Out of all these 13million "players" 99,9% of them havent played the game in a year or longer.
You can buy ESO + Morrowind for 5,99€ on Kinguin
Anybody can get this game for 5eur and see its *** in the first few hours.
That also explains why only 7% of the people got the first champion point achievement.

According to wiki, Skyrim sold 7 million copies the first week and 30 million copies by November 2016. That was five years after it was released in 2011
Apparently that made it one of the highest selling video games of all time.
While ESO doesn’t quite look like it’s going to reach those kind of numbers
Also according to wiki, in February 2017 Elder Scrolls Online had sold 8.5 million retail. That was 2 years ago.
Well, eso may not hit those kind of numbers ever, it’s appear to be doing okay.
I want it to succeed and prosper and keep doing well. Tired of all the doom and gloom threads. That’s all.
