The 5.1.7 Overload

Let´s see:

a) OL Light Attack: doesn´t do any damage AND is a projectile.
b) OL Heavy Attack against single targets: Requires a gap closer to be used.
c) OL Heavy Attack against zergs: Requires the player to move into the enemy AoE death zone to actually do some damage while being slow and vulnerable.

Well, I´m totally ok with it, if the same players who were crying for this nerf would now support the re-introduction of our third bar. For it is hard to see any purpose in that "Ultimate" in its current iteration.

I wish they'd just do away the current iteration of OVL and return the third bar variant. The third bar was an incredibly unique perk to both stam and mag sorc, allowing for all sorts of innovative/creative builds & skill combinations to be used. Not to mention on the stam side, it was about the only thing that gave stam sorc some unique utility in solo & small group play (could put skills like caltrops on there for area denial, rapids for mobility and convenience, rearming trap for a self buff, balance for resource management, etc).

I don't know why ZOS just won't delete the class. Then give everyone that owns a sorc. Shyshards and Skill Lines for each sorc that was leveled on your account.

Sounds like a win win for everybody. Even including the zealous sorc haters.

Overall I won't miss the OL meta. I like playin a Sorc but not an Overload Sorc - good riddance on the meta!

YOU are crazy, perhaps?

Overload 3rd bar was far from "unintended", it was a very intended feature provided by the game developers.
Also there were some restrictions on the types of abilities that could be placed on it.

If it were truly "unintended" as you claim (the result of a bug or an oversight on the devs' part), it would have been promptly removed in the first maintenance patch. Which was not what happened.

Edit: and LA weaving is quite a different beast - it originated as a bug, more or less, and was "grandfathered in" because it could not be fixed. But it's very much an official part of the game now... deal with it

I wasn’t too surprised by the nerf. Addressing the strength of Overload heavy attacks in pvp. I mean, that stuff hurt.

But the time of seeing an unexpecting mele of enemies fighting and use overload on them is not totaly over we will kill less of them or maybe it will take a little more, mine still does good damage.
I have to say that I have no idea with what to replace it for pvp, soul strike is the only thing that comes to mind but i do not have it unlocked.

Overload light attacks still hit quite hard. You can go ham with a normal rotation on several players before the Ulti runs out. But Heavy Overload was gutted. Range is too small and a 25% nerf was too heavy. But that seems to be what the current combat Devs do. Like how they nerfed Pirate Skelly into oblivion. Nerfs are acceptable, but they just take a hammer and nothing is left.

To be honest, eso has killed a lot of fun play in pvp over time.

Templar skill was only fixed this patch after it was unintentionally broken a year ago.

Stop giving ZoS so much credit.

I mean, I never really saw a problem with the third bar in the first place. By all means, Overload can have it back as far as I'm concerned, give it some identity.

I've seen Meteor on more recaps now since they made streak unblockable, and DB can hit hard combined with the rest of your combo in non-CP.

I hate pvp magsorcs. I want them to have their 3rd bar back. 3rd bar creates cass identy and it was not OP af like titanic shields and free to cast non-chaneled damaging stuns.

I have been using OL before and after that last patch. I thought it OP before and still haven't really noticed the difference. This is in PvE and without any thought to how much DPS I'm actually doing (don't know, don't care), just a perception that OL kills anything dungeon boss and below pretty easily.
