I loved this spot when I found out about it... I particularly liked to go north into the Eastmarch and visit the ghost town there...

I once took a friend of mine there, she works with games as a level designer and was going through some more or less complicated times and she really enjoyed the ride because she could understand all the logic behind the game's level design for these remains to be left there and realize that even the work of a big AAA company was not that much unlike her own, which seems to have helped her self-esteem and confidence a lot :)

She's recently got some promising interviews and things seem to be working out for her, and I liked to see this place as part of her story/path, now it shall remain as memories only, but 'twas a good run.

Just wanted to share this little story that kind of works, now that we're seeing this place go, as a powerful evidence of how meaningful the silliest things can be to people. A bit disappointed to see it go but... oh, well... I'm sure there's a lot of stuff yet to be found :)

I know a couple places to get off the map on PS4 but cannot say for sure if they've been patched yet as I'm not much on going too far off map lol

On PS4 as well. I'll post a vid tomorrow to help these guys out. The Rift isn't too difficult to escape.

So there are MORE invisible walls now? Greaaaat.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Aww, that's a heartwarming story. What company does she work for?

Was on the Eataine map South West of the Shrine Of Lileath Im guessing all MMOs have a storage area or zone

Storage for what? The only storage the empty space is doing is eating up my Hard Drive storage haha xD

I will never forget the many memories I had with friends, heading to the Rift vampire shrine. Platforming up those rocks and getting out of the map. T'was a harmless glitch, and players would do it for fun and the game wouldn't be affected at all. I remember me and my two friends exploring the white land, the checkered board area, and swimming across invisible space to an unloaded Stonefalls region.

It was a fun glitch that lasted for years, and has unwantedly been patched. It looks like the publicity of the glitch has caught the attention of ZOS and it has been patched. There are invisible walls surrounding the platforming rocks, and the glitch can no longer be done.

The "get out of map" Glitch:

Rest in peace dear glitch, you shall be missed. Would anyone like to share memories they had with this fantastic glitch before it's uneventful end?

PS. It is odd that they had the time to patch that glitch (0 demand), but don't have the time to implement a barbershop/character customization and more important things in the game (high demand).

I know this post is very old but I also found a couple of places where you can reach the literal corner of the map.
One was patched, I believe, in Glanumbra. The other is a well kept secret I share with few, just because I don't want it to be patched. But I assure you there's at least one unpatched place, one very big chunk where you can go to the mountains and stop listening to the ambience sounds, so texture gets worse and worse until there's only the checkred floor.

A shame. I remember in the beta, when Deshan or Stonefalls was not finished yet I jumped a cliff into to sea and the water glitched and I reached the bottom of the sea and can ride in the horse to the horizon just to find the distant isle/montains are only scenario, like a cardboard. I love to explore and this is my main dirve since Morrowind. I managed to find each coin in the Skyrim waterfalls bottom and I keep searching for places in ESO where I can escape from the developers invisible walls.

Not something I deliberately glitched but I've ended up outside the COH dungeon and fallen through Volenfell dungeon a few times (IIRC, you do return to the map possibly at the beginning).

That kind of thing happens wherever there is rush which is probably most of AAA. In my previous game of choice, Wildstar (which was pushed out before it was ready) there was huge load of scenery out of official maps, including several unfinished zones.

This Grimvault out of map location was my favorite find.

I have seen something exactly like this in another MMO and it was for a good reason this got "sealed off", I would say. It would stand to reason, that the methods don't vary much or at all between different companies in this field. If so, then expect (elements of) whatever people have seen there, will eventually be actual content. Even if the area seen in various videos are just testing grounds, or an unfinished real new region doesn't make a difference. You will want a surprise, to keep being one, until it is time.

The place in 2016 you can still get to, but instead of taking 3 minutes it's about a 25 minute horse ride

What I don't understand about the whole getting out of the map deal is why does ZOS worry about fixing spots like those mentioned in this thread which are harmless fun, but does nothing to fix those that actually allow exploiting in dungeons.

Seeing the words spelled out on the world map as a player passes over the letters really shows how scaled up the game world is. :D I also have to wonder if these areas will ever have things added to them or just remain as they are.

This is exactly why I don't talk about the spots I have found. I don't understand why they would close off these spots.

Welp this was from 2016, now I look like a fool.

It's a tricky situation indeed - Keep it to yourself, it's only nice for you and maybe some other, trustworthy people. If you do tell it to others, it will probably become known to the developers and we all know the result of that...

This is something that most definitely makes someone itch to tell others, I guess. It's not much fun for long otherwise.
