Throwing pies

Possibly stupid question, but if someone is running around throwing pies at people NOT during an event, are they just trying to be annoying or do they get rewarded for this in some way? By being rewarded I don’t just mean the sheer joy of driving people nuts; I was thinking more along the lines of achievements.

There was an achievement for throwing pies at people of enemy alliances. I don't remember if it had to be done during the actual event or not. I still have so many pies stashed away.

Some do it in fun or for achievements

But let’s cut the codswallop shall we....

Most are doing it purely out of malice, or having a temper tantrum, simple as that

Being twits. Jester's Festival and New Life Festival have achievements attached, but the rest of the year the only reward is whatever people get out of twittery.

You’re right; I don’t know why I said pies. Pies would be so much better. Or if you could throw a drink in someone’s face, that would be great, too.

The other day I was turning in crafting writs when I got mud balled several times.
When I figured out who was doing it I saw it was my wife so I returned the favor.
Maybe she was paying me back for that time I ran across her in Cyro and killed her. :D

    Something I've wondered...

If you're in Cyrodiil, and suddenly find yourself engaged in unwanted PvP, can you temporarily interrupt an attacker so you can try to escape by throwing a pie or mudball at them?
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Try this: One character using the "Twilight Shard" and another one throwing a mud ball.

I had to laugh, when this happened.
You reveal yourself best in how you play.

    Kelces - Argonian Templar
Farel Donvu - Dark Elf Sorcerer
Navam Llervu - Dark Elf Dragonknight
    Aniseth - Wood Elf Warden
    Therediel - Wood Elf Templar
    Nilonwy - Wood Elf Nightblade
    Jurupari - Argonian Warden
    Kú-Chulainn - Argonian Sorcerer
    PC - EU

I always have a laugh when I get pied and/or mudballed.

I also laugh when I do the same to others.

It's just a game, have fun, enjoy some harmless humor. It doesn't hurt anything at all, maybe join in instead of being offended. Enough of that in the real world already.

Don't complain and get it taken away from the game and ruin something fun, okay? ;):D

Well if you are at an outfit station then it's perfectly reasonable and justified a person gets irritated, because that's just horrible behavior from the thrower.

They do it for fun. If they keep doing it over and over then at some point it is doing it to troll. I am actually surprised Zos did not put a debuff on targets where they cannot be hit again for a few seconds but I guess that is Zos for you.

I kept my extra pies for retaliation against the mudball trolls that like to hang around the Riften crafting area.

I was hanging out silently in zone chat the other day. Couple hardcore roleplayers in Riften. One dude kept talking about how beautiful his dress was and how much it cost him. Threw a pie and cracked up at his outrage. That's when I decided I'd found a good way to finish off the rest of my Jester pies. Poor guy never found out who was throwing them.

Those are the ones. Maybe they have multiple stacks of mud balls, as I do, but just can’t bear to destroy them.

I’m not offended and I’m not complaining. I just wondered if there’s an achievement I don’t know about since this is something happening outside of the New Life Festival. Also, there is literally ZERO chance that they will ban this or remove it from the game. If only!!!!

Pies yes. if you have the mudball memento then no.

No need to hoard mudballs, there’s a memento.

As to the op question, I throw pies randomly. It’s harmless fun. As long as you aren’t harassing someone by spamming it or throwing it at the outfit station it’s fine. Spamming pies and mud at the outfit station is a reportable offense.

In my guild the official way to say hello to a fellow guildie is to throw a pie or mudball when you run into them in the game world. It's all in good fun! Otherwise I leave people alone unless they are annoying me. Duelers right next to the wayshrines in crowded cities? People who leap around and spam spells? Bots? They get pie'd or mudballed repeatedly. Sometimes I'm able to get others to join me which is even more fun. Did I make you lose your duel because I was in your way throwing mud at you? Good! Now you know how people feel just trying to walk through a crowded area with multiple duels going on.
