Personally I always wanted an Elder Scrolls, online. Not what we have now, Id scrap the classes, trials, battlegrounds, instanced zones, and terrible separate pve from pvp silliness.

Id also can mega servers, classic PvP and PvE servers are more than appropriate.

All the best features from Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim would be in the game. To include their superior combat systems, current combat system isnt as good as the original, tab target/assist will always be inferior to free aim.

Id expand housing to be more like Asherons Call and ArcheAge, their housing systems were better.

Essentially, this would have been Elder Scrolls, online and any Elder Scrolls continuation would have been update compatible for better features.

    I'd make it less cash grabby. Profit motive is driving gaming into the dirt lately, like buying the game isn't enough for these greedy execs it's ridiculous.

    I'd have a lot more stamina and dual scaling morphs for classes in fact I'd probably make the old classes a lot more like the new two classes have damage, defence, utility class lines (dps, tank, healer).

    The combat system is fine, skyrims was boring, magic was fiddly and just hacking and slashing seems pretty unexciting, I like the simplicity compared to other MMOs.

    PVP and PVE want completely different things, I went I make a skill I will tag them PVE or PVP. Burst and burst mitigation will be PVP skills while DoTs will dominate PVE, Although a good spammable I feel like could be played in both.

    I would go for...
    * Classless based system
    * Flying
    * inspect ppl gear
    * Bikini/Revealing armor and clothes
    * Spear weapon skill line
    * UE4
    * Cutscenes
    * Unique race personality and animation ( similar to wow and FFXIV)
    * In game rare mounts ( not cash shop )
    * wPvP on the current zone ( not just cyrodiil)( similar to wow)

    A lot of what’s been said but especially get rid of the incredible greed.
    • Guild v Guild PvP
    • Dynamic map so guilds can build up their own cities in all the various architectural styles
    • Enemy guilds declaring war with system to schedule hours long siege to try to raze it to the ground
    • Players control the map, politics and war

    Basically in more of the Shadowbane tradition instead of DAoC/WoW.

    I would:
    - Revert some racial changes, or simply buff those races (Argonians & Wood Elves).
    - Roll back Werewolf to its state in Wolfhunter DLC.
    - Revert literally EVERY other base game balance changes to its original state, to the time when game launched, back to 2014. (except champion points system).
    - Re-add Direct x 9 support and add 2 versions of client - SD & HD versions of the graphics.
    - I would re-do some ESO+ features and same base game features so ESO+ would not be that "invasive" (aka Introduce a problem and then sell a solution for it). For example I would add every larger game update to increase the max bank space cap by 10. More gold sink, but for something that is actually useful.
    - Add group finder support for Trials & Arenas.
    - Change how multi crafting works (set "1" as a default value when refining, instead of max).
    - Add some add-ons to a base game (Lost Treasures for example).
    - I would add "trading house" - an alternative for WTS chat spam. It would have heavy limitation though, like you could only sell / buy limited number of items (like 5 per week for example). The items sold / bought would become account bound to prevent re-selling & pumping up prices. Also it would make sure that the current trading guild system remains the primary trading system.
    - For future updates (let's say DLC dungeons as those are the smallest ones) I would focus on fixing bugs, rather than making balance changes.
    - On top of Outfit system, I would add transmog system (so you could change the look of the item too).
    - In PvP, change how potential points are gained. It would be based on population, so in a scenario when one side has no people and the other has significantly more players (example: one faction is night/morning capping), potential points gained that way would have a penalty. Depending on population difference it could be 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x less points. In order to reset this, you would have to lose & re-take objectives when populations are more or less equal. This system would not affect you native objectives. AP for taking objectives would remain as it is now, unchanged.

    Actually... something similar have happened in eso. There was a bug in a crown store, that would basically change a player model to a visual model of a non-combat pet. Idk if it only affected Doom Wolf, but either way, it looked hilarious :D

    Groupfinder:
    The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

    Biggest change I'd make is to have Any Race, Any Alliance part of the core game and instead of choosing an alliance during character creation and starting you off in their area or the newest expansion everyone starts in Coldharbour, then everyone goes to the same starter island where you're introduced to the 3 Alliances via a series of quests, at the end of which you choose which one you want to join. (This should give at least enough XP to get to level 10 to coincide with unlocking access to Cyrodiil.)

    Then over time NPCs could be added to give the starting quests for Vvardenfell, Summerset, Elseweyr and anywhere else they think players might want to skip to - alongside boats to the major cities. If you take that route and then want to go to Cyrodiil you just have to complete the starter island quest or sign up with a recruiter in each alliance's major city. Obviously this means the freedom of movement introduced with One Tamriel would have been in the game since the start.

    I'd also go with a classless system like previous Elder Scrolls games, with a similar attribute system to Morrowind or Oblivion, so you can't simply max out everything and some combinations of skills will be easier to use effectively than others.

    - I'd steal "Saga of Ryzom" leveling system and skill trees (essentially, there are no classes, only skill trees. You build your own skills from building blocks to balance strength, efficiency, casting time and resource consumption to your individual needs, and you earn new building blocks by using skills from the same skill tree).

    - I'd separate PvP skill set from the rest of the game, like GW2 did. That way the devs can nerf PvP into oblivion without hurting everyone else.

    - I'd reduce stats on gear to make it less impactful. Gear should add flavor to your playstyle, not make or break it.

    - I'd cut costumes into individual pieces (where possible) and make dyes apply consistently: the same type of material = the same shade and shine.

    - And finally, I'd remodel character feet and chests (toes aren't supposed to be fused together, and neither are breasts). ;)

    I'd have "Cyrodiil Online" - Just one big campaign that is affected by everything a player does in game.
    This way we can balance everything purely for PVP without having to balance PVE. ESO would be the PVE Version.

    Max group size of 12.
    Healing only heals yourself and others in your group.

    Cyrodiil open world remains largely the same, it's quite a successful AvA model so I wouldn't mess with it too much.
    I would however give guards more powerful defensive skills, so that taking empty keeps and resources is trickier.
    And have score scaling off current faction population, so not to promote / reward stacking one faction during off-peak. People should be rewarded for fighting other players above fighting doors.

    The Hammer needs reworking, not 100% sure how but I do think it's a reasonably good idea, just badly executed.
    Also, I want a proper Day / Night cycle in Cyrodiil and Imperial City - I want it to be quite dark, I think it would be terrifying + awesome.

    Make the Imperial City larger, with more repeatable daily quests.
    Make it reward Tel Var still, but make Tel Var a much more viable currency for purchasing gear, sieges, potions, food etc etc.
    Crafting materials are still available throughout Cyrodiil, just from specific areas, meaning if you want to make potions you'll have to visit Overland, IC & Sewers.

    Add the multiple Battlegrounds into Cyrodiil. Have a version where you can only go in as a group, and a version where you can only go in solo and get put into a group. Pre-Made / Random. BGs would also affect the total score.

    Keep the Sewers essentially as they are, but make the mobs and bosses even tougher.
    Make them like PVE Trial bosses that require a group to kill. And give them a useful loot table each.

    Personally I'd still keep the 2 trials in there also.
    I'd even add in 2 more Trials, and again give them a decent, useful loot table for PVP.
    But you have to run through the PVP zone in your group to make it to the trial door/portal.

    Expansions (no such thing as 'Chapters') would be adding in new areas.
    A new Battleground or Dungeon. Or in Overland / I.C / Sewers a new part of the map opens up with different objectives - make these zoned with a smaller max population limit of say 24 per faction at any time, basically a mini AvA where a group can make a big difference.

    You all do have the opportunity. Just raise a few hundred million dollars and have a team of 100 people work on it for 5 years before you earn a penny.

    i wouldnt of had trials or dps animation cancelling. Everything else would of naturally worked itself out properly based on that.

    dungeons would have many different themes as opposed to now.

    race against time dungeons
    stay alive dungeons
    split up dungeons
    dungeon mechanics to reduce boss mechanics
    themed global mechanics that let you enjoy the story.
    dungeons where you require stealth

    they could of done anything with this game i believe but they chose raids and when you do that dps and boss mechanics is all there is to work with.

    The only change I would make are with the classes:
    Templar - Specialize in Healing.
    Sorcerer - Specialize in Destruction Magicka.
    Dragonknight - Tanking.
    Nightblade - Stealth.
    Necromancer - Evil Magicka.
    Warden - Jack of all trades, master of none. Would heal some but not as much as a Templar. Would not do as much damage as a Sorcerer, or drangonkinght.
    PC - NA - AD
    started April 2015
    PVE & Solo only

    Meet the LOST family: CP 1250+
    Easily Lost Crafter - lvl 50 - Sorcerer Orc ( knows all traits and most styles )
    Easily Lost-W - lvl 50 - Warden Imperial
    Forever Lost - lvl 50 Sorcerer

    If I was redoing ESO, I'd probably drop the megaserver system and definitely drop the present trading system along with the associated multiple guild membership arrangements. I'd separate skill changes between PvE and PvP where necessary.

    All that said, I wouldn't seek to redo ESO in the first place as, the trading system apart, I have no issues with the game as it is.

    A user submittable dungeon/delve system ala Mario maker. Would require curation but the potential for free content at a pace impossible for a development team to match would be very enticing.

    Nothing fixed to the game world obviously.. just a boat in town that allowed you to "explore the wilderness".

    I also would have broken AVA down to adhoc battlegrounds rather than one giant field so I would have had direct control over the number of players in each keep fight then leave the AVA zone for PVE related activities. AVA would still have keep battles and still have points/scrolls/resources/etc but instead of running from keep a to keep b you queue into a battle for that area instead. Battles award points over time and eventually "flip" the keep to a different control giving whoever controls it the obvious defensive advantage. Scrolls would be converted into CTF. Assaulting a "back keep" like fara when the near keeps are all owned by one faction would give a team an option of very high rewards but very hard objectives(IE capture the keep before your team dies 200 times total type thing).

    By breaking down pvp like that you could scale it to insanity and still have all the objectives of PVE/PVP/ and objective claiming in AVA without all the horrible performance costs.
