Why only 100 friends??

Can we increase friends list size?
Maybe with ESO+?

The reason why is I find myself constantly cleaning my friends.

I mean also, an addon idea I'm not too sure if its possible for this game? You can add peoples @names to a list, the list tracks when they're on, offline, and their location. this is separate from the current list we have and can be extended to a finite amount so we have a different "buddy system" Or does one exist?

I'd kill just to be at 150!

tbh i find it pretty rude how people deal with this thread. wether its a friend list or a contact list, doesnt matter. its pretty common keeping in touch with people which arent in your guild but u share mutual interests with, like raiding, pve or pvp, even if they cant be considered "friends" or "close friends". the term "friend" is pretty commonly used in internet, wether its forums, chat platforms or games, and i still wonder, how on earth after...idk 25 or 30 years of commercial internet people still are discussing the usage of this term for such constructs. tho...to bypass that ridiculous discussion coming up over and over again, platform providers could be smart enough to finally call the construct of staying in contact with people neutrally a contact list, still its ridiculous. i also dont know, why this cats thing... whatever.

i'd also appreciate a bigger contact list. i already had problems with the amount of contacts in the past years, since even tho u could be in 5 guilds, i gmed 2 guilds and was in a pve and in a pvp guild. still u had more contacts, like people from other guilds, people u met in a random dungeon via dungeon finder, people who wanted to keep track of me when i come online for questions or other guild ralted stuff (i gmed two trade guilds), people outside of my guilds wanting to use my main house for crafting - so as ashortcut. 100 contacts isnt that much for people beeing years in that game and beeing socially pretty active as well.

on the other hand, i can imagine an increase of that friendlist also correspondences with an increased server load, since you are also loading updates on peoples activities via friendlist - as it did in the past with people that u were in guilds with. its painfull having to drop a qol idea just bcs some of the servers get rekt fast.

Like the guild limit of 5 guilds and 500 members per guild, the player limit of 100 friends and 100(?) enemies actually has a performance impact on the server, since it has to monitor the state of them. You get notified when the friends get logged in or out with a character, which is pretty much continuous monitoring.

My guess is that, given the current state of the server performance, they would be more likely to reduce the number of friends than add to it. (Not that I think they will reduce it... just saying)

Add-ons cannot know who else is in the game unless the game tells them, and it does not. Imaging having to sort through a list of hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of player accounts during peak times to find out if "Joe" was logged in because some add-on is requesting it every 30 seconds. That would also be a nasty performance hit that I am sure ZOS would drastically limit to the point where it is unusable by add-ons, like the guild history.

If you use the note function and write down what you did with your friends, you'll never forget who they are and can easily keep track of all 100 of them.
I am already at my limit and it's always frustrating to meet new people you get along with only to be unable to make new room for them. The only time it's getting difficult is when you realize you are suddenly at 99 friends and can't tell who unfriended you until you realize one day through either meeting them again ingame or doing the activity you originally met them in.

I say, double the size of the friends list. Aditionally there shouldn't be only a visual signal, but also a loud fanfare every time a friend logs in or out.

First, Zos had to determine a limit to lists at some point. If Zos had set the limit at 150 then OP would be wanting 200. It really is that simple. Besides, I really doubt people with full friends lists are regularly keeping in conversations with all of them and many are likely already in one of their guilds.

Further, that list adds to server load as that list is querying the server. The longer the list the more information is requested from the server. Zos is looking to reduce queries made of the server so it is very doubtful the list will be increased.
