Yes I've just canceled my sub. Don't get me wrong, I love ESO, love the story, questing, everything about it. But I am not supporting an inexperienced MMO Developer. I can understand, that there are bugs in games at launch. However Zenimax assumed they could learn on their own which is their own fault.
Bugs are in from previous beta tests and there should be very few at launch. A player should not have to log out just to combat a bug because it takes away from the gameplay and makes it repetitive. I've been playing MMOs since SWG so I should know. There has only been 2 patches so far, maybe 3. However there are these mini patches called hotfixes which you should learn about Zenimax.. Gold Spammers are spamming the chat and there should be a better and easier way to report+ignore them at the same time. However there is not and this should have been a #1 priority at launch. Zenimax needs to be clear about their ToS also, the 2.4k comments on the one sticky clearly shows the frustration of players because you did not make the ToS clear enough and gave misleading subscription information. You are making peoples banks confused on why there is a verification charge on their bank account for however much money there subscription plan was which should not be happening at all.
Also the community interaction is very low. Zenimax has provided little to no detail at all about any emergency maintenance, or any reason when they bring down guild or in-game mail functionality and no you should give your players updates on the actual launcher...not Twitter or Facebook.
I want to support ESO and Zenimax but I will not give them or their game any support because I feel at the moment it is not worth it. I want ESO to succeed, I want Zenimax to be a successful Dev and I believe they can. However they need to have more of an experience and understanding of the MMO community and it's playerbase. If something is being worked on players need to know. If the game is going to be down for maintenance, players need to know for how long. Interactivity and communicating with your players is key to the playerbase as a whole.
Until then....
