Yes I've just canceled my sub. Don't get me wrong, I love ESO, love the story, questing, everything about it. But I am not supporting an inexperienced MMO Developer. I can understand, that there are bugs in games at launch. However Zenimax assumed they could learn on their own which is their own fault.

Bugs are in from previous beta tests and there should be very few at launch. A player should not have to log out just to combat a bug because it takes away from the gameplay and makes it repetitive. I've been playing MMOs since SWG so I should know. There has only been 2 patches so far, maybe 3. However there are these mini patches called hotfixes which you should learn about Zenimax.. Gold Spammers are spamming the chat and there should be a better and easier way to report+ignore them at the same time. However there is not and this should have been a #1 priority at launch. Zenimax needs to be clear about their ToS also, the 2.4k comments on the one sticky clearly shows the frustration of players because you did not make the ToS clear enough and gave misleading subscription information. You are making peoples banks confused on why there is a verification charge on their bank account for however much money there subscription plan was which should not be happening at all.

Also the community interaction is very low. Zenimax has provided little to no detail at all about any emergency maintenance, or any reason when they bring down guild or in-game mail functionality and no you should give your players updates on the actual launcher...not Twitter or Facebook.

I want to support ESO and Zenimax but I will not give them or their game any support because I feel at the moment it is not worth it. I want ESO to succeed, I want Zenimax to be a successful Dev and I believe they can. However they need to have more of an experience and understanding of the MMO community and it's playerbase. If something is being worked on players need to know. If the game is going to be down for maintenance, players need to know for how long. Interactivity and communicating with your players is key to the playerbase as a whole.

Until then....

I'm almost at that point myself...giving it a few more goes with customer service.

I managed to get my retail imp edition refunded even though I used the codes, the store was nice enough to refund me. So I basically got the game and 1 month for free. Whether I sub after the first month...Unlikely. I just spent money on a new gfx card that should at minimum, give me double the FPS I was getting with my 6870, but I only get 8FPS more. Then there's the loading screen lag and pretty much everything you siad.

Personally I will still be here.

Don't call yourself experienced if SWG was your first. WoW gave a free month to everyone who played the opening month of the game because it was unplayable. Compared to MOST mmo launches (there have been a few rays of sunshine) this one has gone smooth.

I think you need to re-consider pre-ordering in the future in terms of MMO's. This is one of the better launches I have seen, and I have been playing launch day forward on most major MMO's since Ultima online. Again, not saying you are wrong in how you feel, but if you feel this is a bad launch, then pre-ordering MMO's is simply not something you should do. Next time wait 3 months first.

Totally agree, Cancelled my sub some time ago and am in fact trying to get a refund.

I say trying because although I did get a reply to my request (and the CSR said "I understand why you would want a refund for this bug riddled game" - his words) I am not getting very far.

First response (above) asked for credit card details (last 4 digits) and secret answer.

Second response was usual "glad all is fixed" response trying to close my ticket, so I have no idea if I will get a refund (but I would guess not).

I might come back later but it's doubtful which is a pity because I am a long time Scrolls fan. But I just can't keep going from enjoyment to frustration to all out raging any more. And don't even start me on CS !!!
Yeah, I got a PC. I just don't feel the need to post it's specifications for an ego boost.

What makes you think he pre-ordered? Release was on the 4th of April.

I'm sorry but i just had to say this.......can i have your stuff? ;)
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

I understand perfectly. Time will tell if I resub at the end of the month. I am giving them this free month to get their *** together and start acting like a AAA MMO company and not some piece of *** Asian F2P grindfest factory.

Customer service is the worst of any AAA game I have played to date. It feels like their offices are just empty. They have one or two GM's that come and spout the same canned responses (looking in to it) because the developers probably don't tell the GM's anything. So servers go down, exploits run rampant, griefers are everywhere, bugs that have been reported months ago in beta are still causing issues for many people...

and we hear NOTHING. That is bad way to run a company...and a bad way to keep subscribers. Most F2P games that are just short term money grabs at least PRETEND to care about the customers for the first two months or so of release.

We have had what, three patches since release that have barely fixed anything? We have bugs that were rampant in beta still in the game...what does this tell me?

It tells me the team at Zenimax are incompetent. Even if their hearts are 100% in it, which I doubt, as we would at least HEAR from, their ability to fix the game in any sort of timely manner seems unlikely.

I love the game, I do, but that love can only carry me so far, because sooner or later the new game feel will wear off, and all I will have is this blinding fact that Zenimax just does not care and the frustration of paying a company to bypass customer concerns without any feedback will push me away.

I guess what I am saying if

LEARN TO USE YOUR DAMN FORUMS ZENIMAX! Talk to us, give us REAL feedback on WHY *** aint working and has not been working for days. If you just treated us as adults, people would understand a lot more. But as it stands, I am lucky to even see an official Zenimax response on ANYTHING, and when I do, it is just a canned moderator response.

This is far from one of the smoothest launches. Saying so shows your lack of Launch experience.

Majority of the MMO games released in the last 5 years have not had game breaking bugs that stopped so much progress as this game still has.

Truth might hurt, but truth is still valid. A good chunk of players will leave this game by the time the next WoW expansion comes out.

But in some way, I think it was expected. Thus the Mega Server. This allows them to always keep things looking populated.

I'm not sure if I'll be cancelling or not... I haven't been affected by some of the gamebreaking bugs others have, just constant smaller annoying ones. But on the other hand I'm level 35 now and I almost dread having to log in... The game is just so boring, especially the main quest.

I understand where ur coming from; but this is kinda whats up with new MMO launches. I thought this launch was exceptionally smooth, even with losing my bank, until I reached a few quests that were bugged to the point of being progression stopping just before veteran. Even with those imo this launch is above average.

Like a dude said above maybe ur just not a "MMO on release" kinda guy, because this stuff is pretty standard. Show me an MMO that just got released and ur showing me a game thats in a late stage beta; thats just how it goes.

Any game that launches with game breaking bugs is not a smooth launch... And even if you have a poor launch, you can still make up for it with great customer service... Which Zenimax does not have.

    Again, this right here.

*** happens. Bad launches happen. Thing's don't always go as planned. Maybe their lead dev is sick, who knows.

However customer service and community relations is ALWAYS in a companies control. It's not how bad the unforeseen (or even foreseen and ignored) things are at launch that define a good company, it is how they handle it and handle the community.

Zenimax already dropped the ball on the technical side of things, now they are failing even worse in the social side of the house, the one thing that can be used to deflect negativity and turn a bad situation into an understandable situation.

Don't call yourself experienced if SWG was your first.

Why? OP may have played many mmo games after SWG(it was released 2003).
I think you need to re-consider pre-ordering in the future in terms of MMO's.

OP never said anything about pre-order?

I love the game but will cancel and come back later(probably after the summer) and check if the bugs are crushed.

I've pre-ordered every MMO since TBC. I've played a lot more then just SWG, though I was just using SWG as an example. I've been playing MMO's since I was a freshmen in high school. Don't go around throwing insults saying people are not experienced with MMOS when you don't even know what they've played. I never said it was a bad launch. I stated there is a lot more that needs to be done that should have been ready at launch. Also I never even said anything about pre-ordered. Maybe you should read my OP instead of scanning through it then proceeding to accuse people.

And to the other replys, I assure you, I've been there for MMO releases. I was there for GW2 release, I've been there for every expansions release TBC. I was there for Tera and also Rift as well as FF XIV. I understand, it's a mega server, problems are going to happen. However that gives Zenimax no excuse as they had another stress test the month before the game released. I think many of you are comparing this release with other releases. There's no seperate servers for ESO, only two mega servers. If they anticipated all these problems then they would've delayed the games release. ESO may gone smooth launch wise and server wise. However gameplay wise it did not and hotfixes could have easily fixed this. I've been playing MMOs for the past 10 years...I think I'm experienced enough
