The irony is that the CP system still makes endgame content extremely hostile to newer players.
PC/NA || Cyro/BGs || retired until Dagon brings a new dawn of PvP metas

the nerfs don't happen because of players without skill. the nerfs happen because highly skilled players disrupt balance and ESO combat being what it is, ZoS cannot seem to figure out that nerf bats will NOT fix that.

Yep... I feel like 90% of the nerfs I've seen over the past year or so that I've been playing haven't been due to the so-called unskilled players- it's because of the people pulling absurdly high numbers. A handful of people are ALWAYS going to be head and shoulders above the rest and I feel like they need to be left out when it comes to balance considerations.

Anyway, the only skill-level nerf borne of issues that perhaps less skilled or practiced players had were the few dungeon nerfs that happened in... Murkmire, was it? But the newer dungeons that have come out since -especially this latest round, or so I've heard- have been significantly more difficult, especially on vet. Otherwise, some of the most casual-friendly classes/builds have been nerfed, petsorc being the standout example.

Or are you just talking about PvP, where they nerfed the cheesy one-trick pony builds? Because those don't require a whole lot of skill either...

For years now zenimax has been catering to the new players. Dumbing down skills. Watering down combat so that new players can be competitive to veteran players. I’m all for new players being able to defend themselves but your starting to let this grow into the point where you actually removing the need for skill in the game. It started with proc sets. It advanced with pay to win classes there was a time where wardens were so op in Cyrodil that 6 out of 10 players you came across we’re running one. Now you introduced the necromancer which made the old op warden look like a pushover. And now your pushing for a dot meta. This has got to stop. If your going to claim you want to balance the game then actually buff thing underperforming aspects and nerf over performing. People get so upset at dying in pvp that now it’s pretty much a heavy armor dot meta. You can’t gank hardly anyone anymore. You can’t fight small groups because your damage isn’t high enough these days to fight a group of tanks. And you pushed the Zerg mentality that if you aren’t part of the Zerg that your utterly useless. Iv been playing this game since the very first day: exclusively on my one toon. Iv gone through buffs and nerfs and always adapting but I have to draw the line when you want to reward players for pressing a few buttons and letting dots do all the work. It’s time to bring back the skill required for the game. You shouldn’t be a new player to this game and be able to go into Cyrodil on a bashbuild and wipe out a whole seasoned group. You shouldn’t be able to throw up shields and take no damage while able to dish it out with impunity. You shouldn’t be a tank and able to out dps an actual dps.

So you can not roflstomp with your Brawler in Cyrodil all of the 12 Geode Cache Farmers, and you care just able to kill 8 of them ? Does that makes you look bad at your Pwnage Youtube Video ?

I dont know much about PVP, the player skill was a different playstyle then end game pve. But his statement and sentiment is point on in a pve context as well. The homogenized class and role design is so watered down that overland is no build no role required . Then you hit end game and it's aone role Dps . Dps in pve did require skill knowledge and proper build/rotation it was a easy to learn hard to master . But tanking healing and utility were a novelty. It isolated and discouraged other builds in end game trials and VR dungeons. Eso need s a new director it went way to far down the single player game and now balance is a frigging mess because it's all about a 1 role meta.
