I'm interested in the changes OP proposes. A Duo Arena lets the people who never did it alone, do it with a friend. Or with someone experienced who would offer his services e.g. for gold or crowns. To teach the noobs and also let them win some vMA rewards, that normally are out of their reach.
Why not?
What's better, to keep the arena away from some people forever, or give them the rare opportunity to try the content with someone? Such Duo Arena could be made a special event.
I did the normal MA just once during 4 years adventure with ESO. Tried vMA few times and never completed the first stage. I Maybe I'm too slow or too old with bad memory. Now I can only get the MA skin for weapons, but I don't want to get just the skins. I know I'm not good enough for doing this content alone, and I don't wish to try it again and again because it's boring.
Generally I'm also against the content that can be repeated over and over again just by remembering the spawning locations of the monsters. In my opinion the spawn locations for duo arena should be randomly generated, which would raise the difficulty level for 2 players.

It's 1.5hrs per week is all that's required for top end stuff. 2 man regular dsa. Can be done. It's challenging and no need for crying. Footman set still sells stupidly well and master weapons are great for the final grinds of new toons. Job done.

No your statement isn't true lol. I have many many many completes on vma, I clear it no problem even have flawless on it. I absolutely hate running it solo as OP stated it is simply boring. Everytime I try to think about getting another weapon I usually think of many other things I could go do instead such as reading a book, doing yardwork, bashing my head off the wall over and over.
This content should be a solo/duo and it should just double the health and adds if you bring a partner. At least that way you have an option the game shouldn't be boring or a chore to get things.

EDIT: In the spirit of trying to be constructive, I'd be perfectly fine with an additional arena style bit of content for teams of two, with its own unique set of challenges and rewards.

Or that the OP has nothing to do about it being too difficult. Or that this thread is a necro. Please try to keep up.

I'd very much like that, though I don't really see it happening.

thats all that anyone does now is it not? run trials/dungeons repeatedly memorising spwan locations and hit mechanics?
seems to me there are camps in this thread those that can and those that cant, why should i have to have something i enjoy doing and spent months on each round learning and dying and rage quitting and then finishing to where i am now farming it 3=4 times a week in around an 1hr (not the best i know) changed because YOU find it to hard? hell lets make ALL the things you find to hard easier
Hell to the no. I it is the only solo content that I still find fun. It doesn't matter that it isn't as difficult as it once was. Some of enjoy it for what it is.
Let's face, a solo arena in an MMO with lack of end game content that hasn't already been done a hundred times shouldn't be a thing.
Majority of people I know absolutely HATE the arena just for the simple fact that it takes away from their ability to play with their friends/guildmates. Now I know people will say, "Well they don't have to do the arena." This may be true... but let's face it... if you want a chance a gold weekly rewards and Maelstrom weapons you are going to run the content. This is especially true for those players who would like to min/max their builds. Sure maybe a percent of a percent of players enjoy the arena as it is now... but the majority do not for various reason I.E. Too Hard, Mechanics Buggy, Too Long... etc.
What made Dragonstar Arena great was the fact you had a group of people you could go in with (friends/guildmates/pugs even) and do it while having a good time and for some of the more serious gamers actively competing for a score. It kept the content going long after it was released. Even now people still run it, though not to the degree it was before.
Now if @zos would make this a duo arena, it would alleviate some of the issues it had for many player to do the content and invite others to do it more. It would bring back the competitiveness in players as they would want themselves and their friends to be at the top.
If they made it a duo arena it would most likely be okay if ZOS added more mobs, more mechanics, or just generally made it harder. The burden would be shared between 2 players and the content wouldn't feel so isolated. I know personally I run it for the weapons and loot... and it's complete buzz kill for me just because I might be sitting in a TS listening to other people doing other content and having a much better time or looking guild chat and seeing the same thing.
What do you guys think? Should Maelstrom Arena be made to be a 2 person arena (with add mechs/mobs/increased difficulty) or should it remain solo content?
...and that would be the best solution.Berserkerkitten wrote: »In the spirit of trying to be constructive, I'd be perfectly fine with an additional arena style bit of content for teams of two, with its own unique set of challenges and rewards.
