Are these just for one toon or account wide

You would have to buy it for each toon and no it is not giftable because you need to have the achievements already.

So, sorry for the ones who wanted to maintain an advantage over others in pvp due to time constraints. More to this game than just pvp.

Thank you that second paragraph sums up my feels.

I hope they add the best gear sets on the Crown store because I can eventually get them through grinding. I worked long hours in real life and its my money so I can do whatever I want with it like paying the game to play for me. I'll continue to throw money at ZO$ for these skill lines because they didn't bother making a gold option or an account-wide features to this. The main reason I continue to throw money at ZO$ is because I hope that one day they'd optimize the game, especially from the bottom of my heart for the servers...

I think its a super idea and about time!!

It would only be a predatory thing if and only if these skill lines were next to impossible to attain without buying them.

That you have to have already attained the skill line at least once proves it is available for convenience and sanity imo.

Worth for the *** Psijic Grind.

Whoever made that grind needs to be fired.

No they don't. It's about to pay dividends

They'll probably get a raise and new skill line to make unbearably grindy.

ETA: I won't be buying them. If and when I start a new character it'll be to play the game with it, take on the content and explore through a different set of eyes with a different set of skills etc.

I don't usually play PvP but it might be interesting to see a lvl 10 player in battlegrounds wielding dawnbreaker or meteor and other ultimates that come with bought skill lines. I know people say you can grind them by then anyway, but realistically, how many people do?

in baby pvp from my experience about 30-40% have meteor. About 20% have dawnbreaker. another 15-20% have psjic and about the top 5-10% have them all

The most popular one in baby pvp is actually soulstrike

Don't Want to Spend the Money, Spend the Time

Me, I don't mind grinding these skill lines, although Undaunted can be kind of Rough given how the GF works with solo DPS queues. My healers and tanks all have it maxed, but most of my DPS still do not. But, I have done with out those passives for years on my characters, I can keep doing that. I still don't have Caltrops on any of my Characters to this day, I still have to spend some time for that.

I'm actually excited. If you do the quest line once - I see no benefit in doing it over and over and over and over...you get my point.

For those who don't want to pay - they still can do the quest lines over and over and over ....etc etc.

Previous games I've played did this for free - so the pay is a little sucky...but gotta make moola somehow.

Remember though we are to blame for this. So many times have I read in the Forums about the repeated grind for Mages or Undaunted when players are levelling new characters. ZOS just gave us what we asked for.
    No.
The community asked for a QoL change for leveling an alt and modernizing the leveling experience, not for a p2skip button on the store. ZoS deliberately doesn't fix/address core issues like this so they can sell a QoL patch on the store.

That amount per character? NOPE. That per line for account? Gladly. If we're going per-character 300 is the max I'm paying for something that only saves wandering around. Just like with the stupid shards. I'm not paying that amount per-character per-map. I'd, again, pay 300 crowns per character for *all* sky shards, but I'm not about to pay for character slots and then pay for a ton of per-character unlocks while *also* paying for a yearly sub. That's stupid and the marketing team behind the pricing for this and shards is stupid as are the people who buy these unlocks at this price per-character.

Heck, I'd even go a little more than double and pay, at max, 8000 to unlock all of these lines at once for every single character on the entire account as long as it was made so when you max the ones you don't have on one character that line is maxed on your others instantly. Yet, again, 3k per line per character? HAHAHAHA! No. No individual thing that's per character is worth more than 300 crowns because per-character unlocks are pretty much worthless.

The point of these unlocks is to make it so you can make alts without needing the time investment so they need to be priced to compete with the amount of time you'd be spending doing these things. The time spent doing these things is nowhere near 3000 crowns worth per individual thing you're doing, especially since some of them can be done at the same time you're doing other things.

It'd be a more economical expenditure of time to either not alt at all and find another game or to spend a little time each session leveling the alt and its skill lines, it may go a bit slowly and take you from what you really want to do, yet it's a better per character and per line/shard spending of time than what it would be in terms of spending money to accomplish the same thing.

To that extent, it's good it's finally here.. but the cost of doing business completely negates the positive of it finally happening.

That's my take on this unlock as well as the skyshard unlocks and any future similar unlocks. If they make these sort of unlocks not account-wide then they need to be very cheap, if they're both not account-wide and not very cheap then they're a complete waste on the buyer's end and not at all worth the cost associated. Some will undoubtedly buy these at the price, sure, yet that certainly does not invalidate my criticism of the choice of this price.

Tinfoil time for a bit. We all know that Crown Store items are planned out a few updates ahead of time so do you think Psijic Order was made into such a boring grind so you would pay to unlock it now?

Also keep in mind CP 150 & 160 was released with the Imperial City being the ONLY place to get the mats so it’s not like ZoS is above this. They literally have been doing it since the first DLC drop.

I just did that grind. Got all skill lines at level 24 in just under 40 hours playtime.

Didn't do thieves or dbhood cause PvP character.

So that's mages fighters soul magic pvp 10 and psijic so 16k crowns is what 100 bucks or so?

So that's less than $3 hour saved by not paying for it. If you are full time employed it would be better to pick up a shift for 8 hours and buy everything and you will have 32hours to play the game as you want to.

Personally I ground it all out over a weekend so idgaf.

If you wanna spend 40hours grinding a new toon you can have a fully spaced character by mid 20s

If someone wants to waste crowns worth of 20 euro's on some skillline, be my guest.

If it's "free" crowns that come with ESO+ it's not that bad. But if someone would actually pull there wallet out for buying a skill line for an alt, i rather use that 20 euro to buy a full game during a steam sale. But to each their own.

This is horrible for the game and I'll try to explain why it is from my point of view.

First of all ESO is very overwhelming and massive for a newcomer, it's very hard to keep track of all the passives, abilities (class, world, race, guilds) etc. Now, before, you had to slowly grind your way through the skill lines and learn each passive or active ability for each level, it gave you time to get used to them and something to work towards. My point is that if new players buy this, they will probably oversee many skills active or passive that are essential to their gameplay. This will lead to the creation of more noobs that are oblivious to game mechanics, they'll scream for nerfs on forums and could potentially ruin the somewhat existing game balance.

The second thing is of course the Crown Store focus. If enough players buy this, it's just a matter of time before CP or Level boosts are added to the game. This way, ZOS will focus their resources on the Crown Store even more and leave the actual game aside since it's not profitable to improve it because it takes too much effort. Why would you release new skills lines and DLC when you can just stack up on some mounts or even sell the already existing skill lines, skill points, cp, levels, whatever it is. Now this is already a huge problem and the game has suffered enough because of it and I doubt this will improve the overall state of the Crown Store-Actual Game content relation.

Third thing is...you're literally making people pay not to play the game. Why you you ever want to do this? Unless the game itself is flawed and you can't be bothered to fix it in its core, so you just pay people to skip to the end. I don't know but it seems counter productive to me. The sense of reward when reaching max skill level will gradually go away as you add these things, and the sense of reward is the core element of any RPG.

While this might be 'an obvious solution' for an old problem (problem of farming skill lines on new alts) I actually think that whoever has leveled multiple characters actually knows how to level their skill lines pretty efficiently. At least that's the case for me, the only thing I could see that can justify this is the Psijic Skill line, it just gets old REALLY fast.

In the end I'd be fine with this addition if I knew that the profits from it will be going towards the improvement of the actual game and not the Crown Store but I just don't see it happening. ZOS keeps abandoning interesting projects for the sake of Crown Store additions and it just keeps getting worse each season. It just seems like ZOS's goal is to take as much money as possible in the short run, but in my opinion that's the wrong approach. I really hope I'm wrong because I really like the game, I think it has great potential that could be unleashed if only ZOS had their priorities straight.

    EDIT: Few typos.

You do know you can't get these as a new player?

Prices are too expensive and should be discounted if you have partial complete skill line. IMHO it will be quicker to level up the skill lines than just spending real money per toon... if it was account-wide that would be better. Skyshards were cheaper.

And this is why we will never see class change tokens: If tokens were a thing, you'd have fewer people making all these alts. And while there IS money to be made from changing a class, a whole lot MORE money can be made from alts.

I kinda have to applaud that a little. While holding my nose. And using hand sanitizer afterwards.
