My point is that if new players buy this, they will probably oversee many skills active or passive that are essential to their gameplay. This will lead to the creation of more noobs that are oblivious to game mechanics, they'll scream for nerfs on forums and could potentially ruin the somewhat existing game balance.

But dont you have to have leveled the skill manually on another character first? Doesnt this protect against "new players turning super noob" argument?

Going up against new players on your level 10 alt in the low level PvP campaign that haven't bought maxed skill lines and haven't leveled enough to unlock the skills in game yet? There is a label for that, P2W.

ETA: I’d like to see the Psijic line priced lower than the others since it’s already behind a pay wall.

By that logic Thieves and Dark Brotherhood should also be cheaper than advertised because they're also technically behind a paywall. Big-brain logic

    Seem good to me.
The price are still a bit low but it's ok I guess.
If people want to by-pass content they've an option but have to paid a decent amount, fair enough.

Buff the prices... or nerf... whatever. As long there is option to not pay what does it matter.

Only problem for me in this leechy pay2not-play thing is publisher have now pretence to keep
grind boring and performance annoying instead of actually focusing on making the game fun.

It's a money making opportunity for the company that is designed for people that don't want to or have time to do content again. My advice is don't drink and open the crown store interface.

it gives them good incentive to make the skill line leveling up as *** as possible so we despair and are like "UGHHH time to buy the skill line instead"

Since Alliance change will never be a thing, the only one I'd consider buying is the AW skill line for my main who is in the "wrong" Alliance, so doesn't PVP. I've already maxed them out on my characters in the "right" Alliance. But basically I'd be paying 3k for caltrops...

This. I'm amazed at all the people acting like those are "grab it right up!" prices. Not that I'd have paid for them at 1/4 of that cost, either, but... /shrug Seems like a total waste of money, and a very easy "I'll just grind it out" decision.

For some skill lines [psijic, undaunted, ledigerdomain] it's good
for every other one, it's bad..removes incentive to play.

Nothing that gives you an unfair advantage over those who refuse to pay is ok in my book. Not that I will purchase it personally because it kills the satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment you receive from finally unlocking the skill

Grindy isn't bad the first time around, its when you have to do it three or four times. It takes the complete ***.

No, the guy who created the Psijic Grind was probably promoted because ZOS most likely had the skill line crown store purchasing in the planing by the time Summerset was released :)

Selling them makes grindy very profitable, I expect that the grind will be even more of a grind so to ensure sales.

It's bad for the game, it's bad for the costumers, it's bad for the entire gaming comunity.

it should be free. For *** sake you guys already pay subscribtion fee and the chapters. This is scummy freemium monetization.

Doesn't cost as much as I had expected. Especially mages guild. Still pricey if you want to skip the main ones.
I'll stick to grinding them whilst levelling for new toons though.
Gives me time to get used to playing them.
My second char was a sorc and the first thing I did was lore books. Level 12 by the time i had maxed out mages guild.

Not gonna lie, much cheaper than I thought they would be. I was expecting 5k per. 3k for the psijic line might be the best deal I have ever seen in the crown store. haha

I think the prices are pretty fair. They are high enough to make people think twice about buying them but still a reasonable price (for some of them) to shorten the new character grind. The alliance War one in particular is looking really nice for my tank. I think ZOS' reasoning behind these prices is that they want this to be a way to shorten the grind not replace them similar transmute crystals. If the prices were too low we would make sub 50 pvp be even more of a mess than it is. There would also be little reason to do the grind for eso+ subscribers as they would have a surplus of crowns.

Third thing is...you're literally making people pay not to play the game. Why you you ever want to do this? Unless the game itself is flawed and you can't be bothered to fix it in its core, so you just pay people to skip to the end. I don't know but it seems counter productive to me.

Because the game is now 5+ years old, there's "old content" and "new content".
    - Some players want to play new content, even if they haven't really played the older one. Just because it's old.
    - Players want to play together. People in guilds tend to play the newer content and new players want to play the newer content with them. I for instance won't replay the old Rivenspire quests for the sake of a new guildie.
    - If a player spends three months in Cyrodiil in order to level the PvP skill lines, and another three months in Summerset for the psijic, etc... they may not be attracted to the newest content - the one ZOS sells the high price. If they can buy those skill lines, it's extra cash for ZOS, PLUS the added benefit (for ZOS) that the player will not feel interested in playing the old content for which he already has the rewards (the skill lines). Those new players will feel like they have "caught up" with the game and wait impatiently for the next chapter which they will eagerly buy, if not even preorder.

    It makes perfect sense.

Way to high in cost which isn't suprising. The concern is paying for something because its been designed to be inconvenient to level up, not a good direction to be pushing towards...

Seriously. I jest about the psijic line, but if you told me the guy who designed it knew it was going to be for sale in the future, I would be pretty disappointed. Perhaps the grindiest quest in the history of RPGs.

Prices should scale with the number of achievements you have.
10% off for each time you completed the skill line on a character.
If somebody grinded or bought the skill line10 times, they deserve to get it for free.
And no, I don't belong into this category.

When you're a pvper and you're on your 10th or 12th max level player after 5+ years, 2 months of eso+ crowns starts to look pretty good compared to that undaunted grind.

If they start doing that and make the game less fun, they'll also start having fewer players. There are plenty of other games to play.
