Weapons Famine

So I have Dual Wield on Bar 1 and Bow on Bar 2 (skill rank 50 & 44 respectively). My preference is either a sword/dagger combination or sword/sword or dagger/dagger. But all the game gives me (quest/looting/chests etc) are two handed weapons. The most common being Greatswords, they’re even on all the weapons racks, along with the occasional vanilla bow. And don’t get me started on Staffs, I must have trashed (deconstructed) a multicolored forest by now. I’m surprised I haven’t been thrown out of the Mages Guild.

At one stage my bow was so far below the level of my character I was forced to buy a vanilla one from a merchant and slap a Glyph on it. But apparently a deconstructed staff doesn’t an improved bow make (should be a Tamriel proverb).

And with the lack of decent swords and daggers I’ve had to equip my character more often than not with axes and maces, not the look I was going for.

So what gives?

Is getting a decent sword, dagger or bow like winning the Tamriel lottery. Or is the game trying to say that my character, a Necromancer, should be using a Greatsword and Staff?

What about you onehanded and shield folks, are you encountering the same scarcity?

Looking for particular set items can be a pain and you always seem to find everything except the thing you want. But if you use a crafted set for your weapons, then you can just make what you want.

RNG in this game is terrible. It's almost as if the game checks your weapon skill rank before dropping loot.

    Yes.

I suggest sacrificing an extra turkey sandwich to the gods of the die roll each weekend!

Or... just farm a lot until you get something usable, (or buy it in a guild store, depending on your weapon set dreams) then gold it and change the trait in CWC as desired...

It's not great but its mitigated by crafted sets being REALLY useful (far more useful than anything that drops while you level). Just craft what you want, or get a friend or guildie to do it for you since crafting under 50 is dirt cheap.

Haven't really devoted any serious time to crafting, already have a 9 to 5 job, but it seems like that's the way to go.

    Crafting is amazing while levelling.
