✭I don't understand why some butterflies have wings and others don't, they were flying when I caught them. And a torchbug without a thorax really isn't going anywhere.
Then again I never did understand those giants in Skyrim, with two perfectly good feet and only ever one toe each.
I do get not being able to catch two fish with one hook though.15 -

. My Grandfather taught me how to fish for panfish (sunfish, perch, ect). Used live bait and 2 hooks on the line. One low, near the sinker, one about 2 - 3 feet above. Best method to find out how deep the fish are suspended.

I'd rather have double the amount of fish in a fishing hole and half the time it takes to get a bite.
Double fish just means 2 whites or 2 blues that you already caught, when you're really trying to get that elusive purple.
As for double-chitin from mudcrabs… if they fixed mudcrabs to not be furry and drop leather, we'd already be at double chitin.
Not even sure that the Coral Crabs ever drop chitin. Don't think I ever got chitin from them.
A funny way to get double insect parts and double chitin could be "Swarming Season" -- double the swarms of wasps and crabs from nests.

Probably has to do with how they coded the internal data structures.
Regular gathering nodes might be leaves of the "gathering node" subtree. Then they can just add a check to the root of that subtree to apply a double-gather status to the entire tree.
Surveys probably have their own separate structure to spawn the nodes, which are different -- they are not persistent in the world and they have to be respawned on demand for individual toons holding surveys.
Loot tables are probably tied to the animal and not as easily globally tweaked.
But anyway, that's just guesswork. The point is, what you think is easy, might actually not be easy behind the scenes.
From the MMO's I've played, what IS easy is screwing up on coding and patches and getting weird side-effects and bugs. The less they have to tweak, the less likely this happens.Edited by Dusk_Coven on August 9, 2019 7:31PM2 -

Well. I suggest that you try fishing BY YOURSELF in Nicolvara's Kennel at the front four holes, all foul water.
This spot used guarantee Perfect Roe drops. Maybe they'll doubled ?
Mayeb they get nerfed already.?
ANYWAYZ: Fishers should note: Other players DO NOT LIKE multiple player fishing at this location a it reduces the number of white fish and in turn the rate of Roe drops.
That said; you can fast track foul water acheivements with buddies at this location. They drop blue and green at a higher rate. Along with purple furniture fish, gunny sacks; other bait and anything else that will slow you getting an extra chance at PR.
So go with buddies, but don't jumping in anonymously to someone else's hole. Keep your rod out of it.1 -
