This is great news, how soon can we expect ZOS's update?
"I’m pleased to announce this morning that Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony have indicated to ESA a commitment to new platform policies with respect to the use of paid loot boxes in games that are developed for their platform. Specifically, this would apply to new games and game updates that add loot box features. And it would require the disclosure of the relative rarity or probabilities of obtaining randomized virtual items in games that are available on their platforms.
I think sometimes that’s the economy we’re dealing with is that appreciate sir being put on an industry to take on a role that may not be something they need to take on. disclosure is wonderful i think we all need to understand what it is that we’re buying. but it’s a matter of how do you that. it’s a matter of how clear it is and whether or not we’re being clear to the industry as a whole across the board. or if we’re trying to create clarity for one particular outline individual. i think we can’t do the latter. all we can do is basically put out disclosure that in as clear a sense as possible makes people understand what they’re getting. what they’re purchasing if they decide to do it because they love that game. that’s their right to do it. i don’t think that we as an industry needs to step into that parental role, though. because some of these people are not children. some of these people are our age. they’re spending a thousand dollars on a game that they love and they spend, this is their way of relaxing after a hard day’s work."

Why care? What is the practical difference between .0001% and .001%? Only a naive person would not understand the apex rewards are VERY rare.
Odds in casinos are very well known for most games.Shokasegambit1 wrote: »Imagine if casino's put there odds on machines and table games. You'd see a decline of people wanting to gamble. These gaming companys are like banks now, I know cuase I used to work for one.
5 pcs: When you open a loot box, you increase a chance to get radiant apex reward in the next loot box by 0.0001%, stacking up to 100 %. This effect resets every 24h.Girl_Number8 wrote: »This is great news, how soon can we expect ZOS's update?

It would be great to see the odds. Bet Zos would adjust them before actually showing them, lol.

Ironic considering some casinos now are allowing people to ban themselves than showing their oddsShokasegambit1 wrote: »Imagine if casino's put there odds on machines and table games. Honestly, do you think the odds are the issue here? Not the shady tactics that use known psychological reward mechanisms to trigger more sales, not just of loot crates but of every item in the Clown Store?
This reeks of a diversion. I read somewhere that some big studios have promised to do something about this by the end of 2020 (how could this possibly take over a year to implement?). So the industry buys themselves a full year to keep stuffing games with every kind of convenience item for inconveniences they create and control, every kind of reskinned cosmetic item they can churn out in a few hours and sell at zero cost for each additional unit, every kind of time-limited promo, even though time-limited promos used to be a way to flush out old stock and you can't even speak of a stock in digital wares...
You keep justifying those microtransactions, keep telling yourselves that it's just this once, keep telling yourselves that you don't mind paying for it if you want something, then complain that games are buggier, grindier and all around crappier.
So...
