Can we get some more insight from zos on the healing changes?

What i really dont get is. Why do PVE guys always expect to clear every content with lowest health, sustain and resistance.
You only need to spec into dps for PVE. But wouldnt it make more sense, that harder content needs you to have more sustain, resistance and health to not instantly die.
Setting up as a glass cannon in PVE is about right. It's basically the best place you can play like that and utilize sets that are created for this job. Running low on res with light (magicka) or medium (stamina) sets usually comes with better sustain, too. And to avoid death there are the three golden rules: 1. step out of bad stuff, 2. have wonderful healers and 3. have wonderful tanks.

If ZOS expects us to be setup like for (defensive) PVP now, they render loads of sets useless overnight and reduce diversity further. In case such kind of enforced heavy PVE meta allows mechanics and DPS/HPS checks to be dealt with in first place it is, obviously.

It's not a matter of DPS needing to build for more survivability. That's perfectly fine. Many, less experienced, groups do that already. The problem is that, with the recent changes, DPS and tanks can provide enough self and group healing that dedicated healers often won't be needed for easier content (even easier trials) while the same dedicated healers won't provide enough additional healing to keep a group alive in harder content where the group is taking high, sustained damage. No matter if you like PvE or not, I don't think anyone really wants to see an entire role, which many enjoy playing, made all but obsolete.

Absolutely this. Also, in vet PvE content, you can be the beefiest boi in the group with all the big shields and resistances in the world and there are mechanics that will oneshot you.

High DPS at the cost of health is acceptable in endgame PvE content because you will die if you get hit no matter what, so best to burn down the boss before the oneshot mechanic hits.
*slams a gallon of Respecting Support Roles juice on the table* Take a sip, babes.

It's like they have rejected the input from the pts. And are continuing down this path that will make the hm content to hard. I dont want to spend the next 3 months (waiting for next patch in Hope's of a fix) in a game where the achievments I want are even further out of reach.

Because that's just the way the game has worked for ages?

I don't even understand the question. It's like asking why I expect the sun to come up tomorrow. Because ... that's just how it be.

Why build resistance in PvE when you can get Major/Minor Ward/Resolve from you support? Why build mitigation when you can get Barrier/Minor Protection/Bone Surge/etc. from your support, plus 270 defensive CP? Why build sustain (even though all stam toons use Dubious/Artaeum or Lavafoot) when you can get Hircine, Sentinel, Orbs, Shards, etc. from your support?

The funny thing is that none of that is going to change here. The super intense incoming damage phases in PvE are already mitigated with defensive ultis (most groups use Barrier in Lokkestiiz beam phase for instance).

All they've done is shift PvE healing into a Combat Prayer spam meta, and forced stam DDs to swap from Resolving Vigor to either Echoing Vigor or Ring of Preservation.

It all just seems rudderless. Solutions in search of problems rather than the other way around.

Dedicated healers need a buff. This could be easily done from CP. No point that DPS characters heals are insane.
