And in that announcement they list transmute crystals and Maelstrom weapons as being part of the double rewards received from nMA and vMAor at the very least worded it in a way that could be interpreted as such.
I think the problem with most of the replies is that people on here have such a familiarity with Maelstrom Arena that they just assume a newer person or someone with a lack of familiarity with the content will just automatically know that transmute crystals and Maelstrom weapons only drop in vMA.
So far you have provided no evidence on how someone, without prior knowledge, could absolutely and definitively interpret the event’s statements in respect to drops to mean exactly and only vMA when speaking about TCs and MWs whereas I have stated a couple times how one could accidentally interpret it to mean otherwise.
Instead you post images and statements that attack the one presenting an argument. Not at all a way to win respect and much less a debate.

I honestly don’t care if ZOS updates the wording but I’m telling you if you have a category and there is a sub bullet point for that category that says such and such is included then it’s extremely easy and logical for the reader to deduce that the subcategory is part of the parent category.
Your good friend read it wrong. The post is very clear that rewards are doubled. Maelstrom weapons are not rewarded for normal runs. If you make a vet run during the event you will get a double drop so the weapons are included in the double rewards. Nowhere does it even hint that the weapons might drop in a normal run.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."4 -

English is not my first language yet at no point did i read this to be:
"During the event MA weapons will also drop on normal"
I still don't see how anyone could read it that way. Makes no sense ...

Meesha1170✭✭✭✭Okay, so I told my English Major friend that others disagreed with her interpretation and when she asked why I mentioned that much of the community knows that TCs and MWs are rewards reserved for only Veteran.
Afterwards she reread it and then agreed with people here but that it was predicated on the knowledge that TCs and MWs only drop from vMA. Otherwise it could be perceived that double rewards of TMs and MWs are an outcome from either difficulty and doubled along with everything else being doubled in reward chests. Knowing this reframed her perspective of the second portion of the statement to mean that the TCs and MWs from vMA chests are included in the doubling of rewards so I was partially right and so was everyone else depending upon the readers knowledge so I apologize for sounding absolutely certain in my viewpoint earlier.
So I came up with an alternative statement for @ZOS to alleviate any misinterpretations for both newer and veteran players
-Double the rewards received from chests in Maelstrom Arena for both Veteran and Normal difficulties
—Including Transmute Crystals and Maelstrom weapons from Veteran mode.
