Unless my reading comprehension totally sucks then I am surprised this isn’t generating a whole lot of controversy right now.
-Double the rewards received from chests in Maelstrom Arena for both Veteran and Normal difficulties
—Including Transmute Crystals and Maelstrom weapons!
Am I reading this right, either Veteran or Normal maelstrom will grant Maelstrom Weapons?

✭✭✭✭It could be read that way. But it does simply say that you get double rewards from either difficulty, and that xmutes and weapons are also double drops. It is assumed you know they only drop in vet, but the ambiguity does allow the reader to assume otherwise.5 -

Actually it does seem to say that. The second statement is a bullet point within the original bullet point about double rewards which makes it seem that Maelstrom Weapons are inclusive of either difficulty.
It would behoove ZOS to clearly separate the two lines to make sure that most players, who are casual at best and will read this to literally mean they can get Maelstrom weapons from either nMA or vMA, don’t become upset.

You're overthinking it.
Normal and Veteran MA have double drops.
-Among everything available in the chests and rewards (implied), including Transmute Crystals and Maelstrom weapons, you'll get double drops (again, last part implied).
-There are lots of potential items to be looted from the chests during this time, but be assured that Transmute Crystals and Maelstrom weapons are also included in this double drop event.
Nothing ever states that normal drops the maelstrom arena weapons, and honestly I don't think it even implies it. They are just being explicit that transmute crystals and MA weapons are part of the event, too.... nothing to do with what difficulty.6 -

✭✭✭There's no conceivable way to infer that Maelstrom Arena weapons will suddenly drop in Normal from ZoS's statement... unless it is the reader's fervent wish that the rules of the game were to be thrown out the window for an event.
If Maelstrom weapons were to suddenly drop where they have never, ever dropped, then ZoS would have explicitly stated such.

That text seems perfectly clear to me. You get chests after each stage in both normal and vet and those will drop double the loot.
How exactly are you reading this as if normal would suddenly drop MA weapons?

Because the people that can't complete it on vet don't need the weps in the first place. Lucky for them, They can get a motif to change the look their wep to a Maelstrom wep so they can look cool.2 -

No, as worded it's quite clear - whichever version you play you will get double the normal rewards. They've said nothing to suggest that you'll receive different rewards to the usual, just double the usual.1 -

For a new person, Maelstrom Arena is entirely irrelevant. By the time they are ready for that content they'll know what it's about.2 -

So you can honestly say that if you had a category listed with two dishes that you had no idea how to make along with a list of ingredients and then right below that a bullet point with two other added ingredients you would know exactly which of the two dishes those extra two ingredients were for? Simply astounding.
