In pve? Why would you need to counter other players cloak in pve?

I think he meant pvp, in which case the question is who doesn’t.

If he meant pvp then he's completely wrong about nobody slotting instant aoe anyway.

Glad you like it, OP. I suck at magblade but I've had similar experiences (and made posts on) with magdens. With these underdog classes I like when players post about good experiences with them. Unless you're an absolute min/maxxer looking to participate in hardcore endgame content, any class is viable for any content.

Most AoEs are worthless against good cloaking NBs. They'll hit you and be cloaked and out of range of your AoE before you can use it. Speed + cloak is the single most effective defensive strategy in PvP, especially in the laggy PvP environment these days. You can't hit what you can't see. I'm terrible at magblade, and even I can hit and run and avoid most damage. Fighting a good cloaking NB is the single most frustrating experience for me in PvP, but I rarely die to a single NB, unless they have mastered that godawful instagib burst combo that lags you out and kills you before you can react.
