Power Surge on PTS 5.1.4?

Seriously, what kind of change is that? You erase it from pvp, you erase it from PvE. It is now only useful for healers, which are not going to be sorcs, anyway. Do you play your game?

sentientomega✭✭✭It's annoying, but use structured entropy for major sorcery *and* critical surge for damaging heals. Now, I've noticed that this PTS run has been about fracturing the function of single abilities and spreading them out over multiple ones.4 -

✭✭✭✭I've looked further now, and Power Surge isn't going to make it onto my bar when I use a sorcerer for dungeon healing. So basically these changes are nerfs to a significant fraction of the skills I did and will use for sorcerer healing (assuming I do any more). The changes to orbs (part buff, part nerf) and buff to Siphon Spirit are NOT nearly enough to make up for the nerfs to Matriarch, Blockade, Mutagen and whatever else I'm momentarily forgetting.3 -

I do not understand the power surge change at all. It cripples it for solo play PvP & VMA. Sorc self heal is shite anyway.

This only thing in common is that both give major sorcery, however so does spell power potions.

The first is an low level heal and buff who last in 10 seconds, it require an target.
Second is an heal on crit hit and last for 33 seconds. Very good in fights with lots of adds like vMA.
Critical surge does not give Major Sorcery but only brutality, will that change to only heal on heal?Grinding just make you go in circles.

No it solves none, I never used power surge in trials, there I used spell power potions.Structured entropy is the solution to all your problems
Main benefit is the healing on crit damage in vMA or other places with high damage and lots of adds.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

One white knight of ZOS, mindlessly defending all their changes this patch, stated in another thread that you can just use structured entropy instead of power surge, failing to see the bigger picture/impact of this change and the whole importance of surge for magsorcs and now everybody seems to play a 'minigame' and be 'funny'.17 -

✭Are they braindead or what? Power Surge was and for now is still the main healing ability on magsorcs which provides major sorcery at the same time. I main magsorc as a DPS and I've never considered Entropy as an alternative. Its performance is shite compared to the Surge. Do they expect us now to slot two skills instead of one and keep an eye on one additional timer?
First they nerfed shields by 50%, then they nerfed them even more, then they nerfed ground aoes by 33%, and finally now they are destroying the main self healing ability of the class... Am I supposed to switch to the healer role or start putting together a DPS alt from a less destroyed class?21
