What's ZoS' plan for balances passes? Classes next? Passives next?

Rest assured it is passives next, its one of the few remaining aspects that differentiates the classes. It is terribly predictable. Another is easy prediction is the final gutting of nightblades as a unique class. In our audit we found passive "xyz" overperforming and therefore have replaced with an utterly useless trait requiring you to "insert poor attempt at making something more difficult to execute in PVP which causes bugs that we did not anticipate". its not just nightblades that will loose, it is all the classes...BUT we will be one step closer to balance. If there is no difference between the classes they will be balanced. The difference lies only in the skills and passives.

Sorry for the negativity, I just miss the unique favor we once had and disappointed there is only more loss to come.

I have seen Amazon's work on New World. Yes, I liked the PvP in the game but it is a much simpler combat system than most major MMORPGs have plus the rest of the game is much simpler. Then again for PvP I tend to like games designed for it.

If you look at their other two titles, looks like a race car game and a BR, it seems their work is on pretty simple types of games. It will be interesting what their plans are for the recently announced MMO.

lord of the rings, not new world. Amazon can put more money into a game just to use as an accounting or tax gimmick, than most game companies have for their entire corporate budget. They would do a MMO with a larger budget than EOS just as another segue into a Prime Membership, and make more from mining the chat for marketing/ad revenue than a true game company.

Its got to be the class passives and some of the abilities. This patch's changes seem like the first step in a larger plan.

It did seem like they were struggling to get a lot of changes done in the turn around time of this patch so there could have been things they wanted to do but they had to bugfix all these sets of changes first.

I predict that the end of all this balance auditing will be everything reduced to single skill. That doesn't work.

Get rdy that they change %based passives to hard values. Like nb's 8% more mag to 1500. The HP buff to 500 per skill slotted.
I can imagine they take this approach.

Given all the changes this Update, I would say gear sets would need to be re-calibrated first.

ZOS has already done so for some sets ... but there’s 300+ gear sets in the game.

They already did class skills. Remember? Probably not. They entirely ignored stamina sorc and Templar and spent most of the time redesigning stamina NBs. I guess it’s easy to understand how people would have mistaken that patch for something other than the class skill audit.

Stam frags, air atro.... maybe a class spammable. A stam sorc can dream. I think gear sets will be next but in my heart I'm wishing for the day stam sorcs will get the attention they deserve. It's meme at this point how they're repeatedly passed over when they do make class changes.

Yes and easy to do. One morph of the atro adds more health. A morph no one uses or shouldn't use. It's a dead morph and could easily to be given over to stam sorcs. Crystal frags is a great skill but crystal blast no one really uses and is another skill could be reworked for stam sorcs. It's the two easiest changes they could make that would give stam sorcs some class identity without stepping on the toes of magsorcs in any real way.

It's already happening. Have to take the fight to the blues on PC EU, who are currently leading. Went to Ales. Whole group got booted from the server and unable to log back in as long as trying to respawn or go to that location again. Too many blues threre. Nothing ZOS are doing is worth a damn until they fix the server. That they might close it instead is, sadly, the truth.

they already visited racials, now is weapon/guild skill lines, next i believe they mentioned is class passives. After that it's anyone's guess. could be class rebalance for the original 4.
