What do mods have to do with that?

i just feel like this game being community moddable beyond what say WoW, SWTOR, EQ are, creates an entirely new set of issues...i could be wrong, but hey, never seen invisible bots before in other games, or anything even remotely close to what's being described here.

In wow there are people that teleport around to harvest nodes. The difference here is that in wow repeatable quests dont pay.

that's in some ways my ignorance of the issue. i don't reside for hours upon hours in game the way some people do to see it with any frequency.
i'm contending that modding is the problem. not that it would completely solve it, but should lessen the likelihood....but whatever, i guess regardless, it's going to be something that games of this nature need to contend with, same as shooters have aimbots / wallhacks, etc.

So you decide to double down on your ignorance and play the "I have a life" card?
Addons aren't the problem.

it's a cheat, plain and simple.

Mods aren't the same thing as botting. A person can run an external program to send command to ESO and have the character respond appropriately. Regardless if ZOS allows mods/addons in ESO botters can/will find some way to automate their game play.
Mods or Addons aren't bots. Botting is an automation of game play. Addons simplify game play (to an extent) or provide the user more info and such. They don't play the game for you.

i get that, but it seems like opening the code to modding, makes it more susceptible to bot programs...like a hole in it.
not that removing the modding would remove bots entirely, but make it more difficult to do? i know bots exist in other games, but i've seen more of it in ESo in the first week than any other MMO i've played.

I suspect they've found some exploit and are using it. I reported a bunch of them but they seem to multiply like rabbits.
