Does eso support botting?

If you had to be level 50 before you could collect nodes, that would curb them slighlty, or at least, slow them down, but alas, new players wouldn't be able to collect iron - I personally think it's a good trade off.
Of course you do, you have a level 50 cap so it's the "I'm all right jack, screw you" mentality so prevalent in games forums.

There are many ways ZOS could implement server-side to detect bot behaviour and then automatically investigate character gathering stats, economy interactions, etc. It CAN be done, ZOS choose not to.

Second there are software / coding solutions that can deal with the majority of botting but Zen seems to want nothing to do with that.

THAT is the solution that ZOS should be using. Not having some employee trotting around the game every day.

    *puts on tinfoil hat*

    more bots = more gold
more gold = gold is less worth
gold worth less = crowns worth more
crowns worth more = people more likely to buy crowns

    I rest my case

    New PvP content when?
    Better cyro performance when?
Farmed about 3 GO's worth of AP

I've actually seen a reverse effect. Cost per Crown used to be about 100-125g, and now on Xbox you can get it for about 75-85g per Crown. Might be other variables involved, though.

Don't the bots have to be on an actual ESO account?

If so is ZOS banning or deleting the account?

If the account is banned new bots just popping back up the next day seems like it would be expensive if ZOS just spent a few weeks going in each day and banning over and over. It feels like the bots are not account linked to be repeatedly popping eight back up.

You can buy accounts all day at $10 a piece. The best farming zones you don’t need ESO+. You can make way more than $10 with an active bot so it’s easy just to buy another and go again.

There are 100s of people that would happily volunteer to be GMs to take care of this problem. Just like the Community people here. ZOS could even have interviews and hold them accountable. But that would take a lot of trust. That would be a lot of power. But the market shows bots are a problem and will always be one if real action isn’t taken.

On Reddit a user had a great idea of having a world boss with easy mechanics pop up if certain criteria was met. Like killing 100 bears/wolves/mudcrabs. You had to do the mechanic or it would wipe all around. I thought this might be a nice way to kinda slow them down

The bold part is another potential area for revision in my opinion. I understand the approach ZoS took, where you really got the player involved in material farming by having an exorbitant number of nodes in the beginner zones, but this is part of the problem. You don't need to progress anywhere to get better nodes. The best farming is literally in the basic zones (except maybe alchemy in Coldharbour or potentially Wrothgar) which gives easy access to these bots to farm. I don't know if restricting farmable nodes in noob zones will make a difference, but I can tell you that the current bot preventative plan is not working.

Maybe not a level 50 but a level 5 or 10 and the requirement that you unlock the skill line before you can interact with a node could help throw up a small roadblock to slow them down. I could see that being unpopular with real players, or at least confusing depending on how it was handled. It's just too easy, as it is, for a bot user to run through the Wailing Prison, arrive on a starter island and do nothing besides harvest nodes.

I agree with the idea that ZOS could implement other server-side methods to block or slow bots down. I would like to hope, in my infinite positivity, that ZOS will implement some anti-bot measures after the upcoming performance fixes.
