Gee, @ZOS_BrianWheeler , thanks for adding even more tools for one faction to completely dominate and troll the entire campaign. You know what's not fun at all? Being 10 reds trying to defend keep after keep against 25 blues, buffed by every scroll bonus and including the Emp and Hammer both. It was bad enough when one faction with Emp would completely dominate a campaign, pushing every other faction to their gates and aggressively keep the entire map a single color. Now they also have the easy help of the Volendrung hammer to make that task even easier. Btw, blues also apparently exploited the hammer by logging off/on and thereby resetting it, I guess you're not gonna do anything about that either? With faction lock I had looked forward to more fair PvP, and with the addition of the hammer, and being exploited by one faction to keep it forever along with Emp, I'm not gonna do any more PvP until this shite is fixed.
Oh, and just for fun information, outer wall on Arrius fell in like 10 secs after it being sieged by Emp and Hammer. How fun!

    You can't really blame people for trying to do quests or get AP somewhere far from the action, when the action mostly consists of blue Emp and blue Hammer steamrolling over every other keep with next to no resistance.

    Hammer is a cheap and badly thought through addition to PvP. Had the team any functioning brain, they would have implemented safeguards, so that Hammer could only be used by a side that did NOT have emp, or by the factions NOT leading the campaign.

    But no, Hammer was implemented in a shoddy and braindead way usable by everyone, so OF COURSE the leading faction is going to monopolize that hammer constantly, adding it to all the other arsenals they have on their side, like keep bonuses, scroll bonuses and emp. Cause who doesn't like a lopsided, one-sided campaign, right?

    The fact that the blue faction is apparently exploiting the hammer to keep it indefinitely sure as heck isn't helping either. Why hasn't a huge exploit like this already been fixed, @ZOS_BrianWheeler ?

    LMAO this was predicted by many when annouced and before implemented. I myself did so with a sarcastic post before all these changes.

    At it's best, PVP is awesome maybe 10% of the time. The other 90% is just frustrating, unrewarding, and not worth the effort.

    ZOS could easily make it more fun, by distributing power tools among the underdogs of a campaign, instead of adding more and more power tools like the Hammer, which are simply stacked on top of one another on one side. Remove Hammer and Emp bonuses and PvP is twice as awesome as it currently is. Or at least ZOS can stop adding friggin more and more OP tools to PvP, simply being stacked on the winning side for a completely one-sided campaign.

    I completely agree. It's clear it was added just for the lulz to satisfy the PvP crowd who complains about never getting any attention.
    But I've been PvP'ing on the side for years now, and this hammer and the way it's implemented is the most un-fun thing ever added to PvP. And no one asked for it, no one wanted it. And now it's here, everyone wants it gone again.

    Either you haven't played ESO since its beginning or you have a really short memory. The domination of a single faction in a campaign is exactly what was happening all the time in Cyrodill back in the days when we had faction lock. I've been warning about consequences of faction locks and especially the scenario you described. But did anyone listen? No.

    I agree that the Hammer needs adjustment, but I don't think it should be removed before trying adjustments... such as denying use to the faction that has Emp. If adjustments don't help, then yes, remove.

    On the other hand...

    I cannot fathom how Zenimax thought it was a good idea to let an emp faction wield the hammer, when the hammer is meant to balance fighting against an emp faction.

    Instead of removing the hammer just change it so no one in the current emp faction can pick it up. They can farm the people trying to get it and use but not use it themselves.

    Much like the scroll mechanic that prohibits a faction from capturing a scroll if they do not have their own scroll secured.

    it's because the closest thing to QC zos does is on the PTS, and nobody on the PTS that got volendump tried to emp with it.

    yes, the community IS the QC.

    and then most of the time Zos doesn't listen any way.

    Any real reason why PC/EU seems to stack guilds on blue but PC/NA has a decent spread of guilds?

    And that's the biggest problem. The 10% is absolutely great. Part of me wished PVP was just bad 100% of the time since launch so I wouldnt give a crap about it.

    I have not been PVPing a lot lately. Been a little immersed in the new trial, and the performance makes it almost unplayable in my mind. That said, based on my limited sample size, it typically goes something like this:

    Every time that stupid hammer is about to spawn, I always look at the map and think, where would be the most laughably idiotic place for this thing to spawn from a balance standpoint in this particular moment, and sure enough, it seems it's ALWAYS right where I expect it to be.
