Critical Surge

What is even more annoying is I have to test CritSurge/DarkDeal and make a post every single pts.

Atleast I gave up on overload testing, that *** flip flops every patch.... does it use spell crit, weapon crit, does it use both light attack cp, now it only uses one if you slot this weapon. What about with this set, oh well apparently that uses weapon crit now. Random *** like this will never be solved. For instance right now overload fails to proc imbue weapon on pts for whatever reason, even though it is considered a light attack.(no patch notes on that tho)

One day Overload will just give extra shock damage to your weapon light attacks if you are using 2h/dw/s&b, with a clean fast animation hopefully.

Well I do appreciate your testing. So at least we know how things function despite the inconsistencies. Atm I dont have space for the pts. So it is very helpful. Especially since i was thinking of trying out an overload + crushing weapons bow front bar build this coming patch. Do you happen to know if it is just the imbue morph or both morphs? The search for a good non class spammable next patch besides dizzy swing continues...

Overload is a skill I really want to use as it is supposed to be the sorc's burst ult, and the dawnbreaker cast time really blows imo. I used to run an overload build to combo it with dawnbreaker, but with a cast time I dont see that being effective (not to mention the normal issues with a stam spec using a shock damage ult and the behind the scenes inconsistencies that you mentioned, which already hindered it's effectiveness w/o dawnbreaker having a cast time).

This patch will hit stam sorcs harder than expected without much in exchange.

I already made a thread about the overload imbue weapon on pts, but I believe it was just ignored.

On live overload procs imbue weapon and morphs
On pts overload does not proc imbue weapon and morphs
For dueling I have been able to compete with some top players on a bosmer stamsorc running a dizzy build with the basis of timing damage buffs, then backbar enter overload> swap > dizzy > OverLight> onslaught >(enemy will dodge or die) > Overlight > reverse slice > bash

In openworld, most people die to the dizzy swing > reverse rotation anyways so it isn't really practical.
In duels once the player sees you do this once they will probably counter it if they know what they are doing.
Stamsorc will be fine next patch, since the class only has passives essentially. We only really get nerfed/buffed depending on what weapon lines you use. Overall Stamsorcs have just been nerfed though, usually indirectly

-DD became inefficient, nobody playing stamsorc will only do one DD every 20 seconds leading to always wasting mag
-One handed enchants are half> can no longer run infused wd s&b backbar for ransack(majFracture)
-Snare immunes got gutted with murkmire > leads speed to be useless in most scenarios
-Lost OL third bar > can no longer slot utility abilities like streak/caltrops/trap/meditate/critsurge(sometimes)
-Alot of aoe snares and roots became meta Ex: magdens spamming Icewall

    On PTS:

    0 elfborn 0 precise strikes......crit surge crit = 4959

    0 elfborn 50 precise strikes.....crit surge crit = 4959

    50 elfborn 0 precise strikes.....crit surge crit = 5554

    50 elfborn 50 precise strikes.....crit surge crit = 5554

Yaaaa it should scale with precise strikes since its for stam builds. And power surge scale with elfborn.

I hope they haven't put these skills under their "already completed" check list for their audit. If so they need to think a bit harder about who is using the skills for cp impact rather than just what resource it costs.

About Dark Exchange and morphs. This might just be one of those abilities that should use whatever critical % value is higher.

So instead if finishing their skill audit and making sure skills that stam players use scale with stam cp and skills that mag players use scale with mag cp, they added completely new functionality to power surge. They pushed this change late in the pts patch cycle before they could even ensure it would work as intended. Does this type of development prioritization make sense to anyone?

When has Zenimax ever made sense to anybody?

Well, as a stam sorc main that has played since launch, I'm fairly optimistic.

So crit surge got a 10% buff to healing and dark deal can now crit. My question is if these abilities are scaling properly now or if they are still getting no benefit from stam cp. Either way it should be a buff to stam sorc healing but it would be even better if they scaled properly.

It is my understanding that they are still not affected by the appropriate cp. They may have to rebalance after they correct what cp affects it since they buffed crit surge. I would much prefer them fix the cp than get the buff tbh. Just so it is more intuitive to make a build. They are just making more work for themselves by not focusing on the skill audit as they will have to do another pass since this audit (so far) isnt conplete. Instead they are focusing on the healing changes, probably because it has more of a direct impact to performance. Whatever zos just doing zos things and focusing on the short win for the investors.

@TBois Looks like I’ll have to up my 20 points in healing to 30 to get that spell crit until they fix this. Ironic that this is the patch they were supposed to fix these things. Seems like a lot of skills got overlooked in this audit.
