Cyrodil for PVE

Hey Devs...love the changes to Cyrodil...nice to not have to worry whether Chalman is up or not when trying to make it to the IC entrance. One more Campaign would be nice: How about A CYRODIL CAMPAIGN FOR PVE'ERS?

I just want Skyshards, Delve clears, loot, Dolmens, and quests without looking over my shoulder for other factions who want to kill my innocent, alone, obviously PVE'ing [snip] and send me back to a keep that is a ten minute ride from what I was doing. THIS IS A MASSIVE PAIN [snip] and a huge waste of my time, not to mention frustrating [snip].

So please please please make a Campaign that has no factions, no AP, no nothing but sweet sweet PVE goodness. Oh and about ten wayshrines scattered throughout would be awesome too.

Discuss.

The problem is that Cyrodiil at this time according to the lore is a battlefield. For this reason at least I doubt it will happen. Just join one of the small campaigns, they are usually unpopular enough to go through without being bothered.

    Steps for Surviving in Cyrodiil:

    1. If players attack you, don't let them kill you.
    2. Kill the players attacking you

If it was a pve instance of Cyrodiil, all the pvp try hards, gankers and griefers could follow as much as they wanted. The *pve* instance of Cyrodiil would be *PVE*, so they couldn't do much beyond being annoying. If they continued to block people wanting to play the content in the PVE instance, they could be reported for griefing/harassment.

My anxiety keeps me from PvP-ing, so I feel ya, but Cyrodiil would be the worst PvE zone. It’s absolutely massive and empty and you get multiple load screens just riding anywhere.
Sometimes you just have to accept that not all content is for you.
Additionally: the invisibility plus speed potions on your Quickslot are your friend. There is nothing like chugging one the instant you run headfirst into a group and watching them look for you.

I would farm chests all day!!

OP: That's not going to happen.

First, because Cyrodiil without the danger of looking over your shoulder is a pretty boring place.

Second, because outside of events like the jubilee when people were doing town quests, not many people go out of their way to search for PvErs.

My guild runs an event on Saturday mornings where we get skyshards and delve completions for our alts. We used to rotate through the alliances before One Tamriel, and at one point we were taking turns each week going to Cyrodiil. Very rarely did we see another player, if we took minimal precautions. And we did recruit a couple of enemy players to our guild who were also just PvEing.

These are the precautions I recommend for people wanting to complete Cyrodiil (which I've done on 3 characters):

    1. Stay away from the battlefront. You are most likely to find enemy players between keeps/outposts controlled by different factions
    2. Don't kill too many mobs on your way to a delve entrance. A lack of mobs tells people that someone was just there killing them.
    3. Sneak when entering or leaving a delve
    4. Stay out of the main routes between keeps. Be careful when you pass through the chokepoints (milegates and bridges). The middle option is usually the quietest, but again, look at the map.
    5. If you play with friends, bring them with you. If you happen to be attacked, one of you might survive and be able to rez the others.
    6. When the map is busy, be careful in small delves where the boss is close to the entrance. PvPers sometimes go there to kill a boss to get an AP buff for an hour called Blessings of War.

Yet again this stupid thread... Give us Vet Trials and Dungeons without bosses and achievements - just chests with loot, and then Cyrodiil without PvP.

IMO this already exists... I've done a lot of solo questing and delving in Cyro and I can say with sincerity that outside of the events, I've never been killed by another player if I'm avoiding the action. Imperial City is a different story but even there... I encounter an enemy player maybe two times each time that I'm down there, and I actually fight them maybe once every two or three visits? Again, this is when I'm purposely avoiding enemy players.

For the sake of performance and to allow people who want into the PvP campaign to PvP, stick to the 7 day campaign. It's emptier AND you won't be wasting server space. To me it feels like I may as well have the place to myself most of the time.

Well, I cleared all the delves on the 30 day during primetime and was never attacked once. Not many folks that only PVP camp them. I even solo'd some back keep resources for the dailies without issue. Just be aware of your surroundings and get into the delve instances as quickly as you can. Avoid the hotspots and crouch once you're close. Ezpz.

Note: It was on my PVP toon, but the mobs and bosses died plenty quickly even in 5 piece impen.

This is timely because I just finished the Cyrodiil skyshard achievement last night. I’ve spent the last few nights running around the zone in PvE gear getting the skyshards and doing the delves (I really wanted that skyshard furnishing for my houses). I chose campaigns with low populations, usually the 7-day, and avoided areas where a lot of fighting was indicated on the map. Going during off-hours helps, too.

I never got into a single PvP fight. On the few occasions where I ran into enemy players in delves, we left each other alone. It turned out to be a lot easier than I’d expected it to be. The hardest part of course is getting the shards behind the enemy gates—that’s the thing that requires some patience.

And all of the PvPers who need to show off their EPEEN by killing people wearing all divines Siroria are of course against this. All of these "brave" PvPers in this thread who are against this suggestion are just scared of actual PvP, because they don't have the skills to kill any real opponent. They can only ever kill anyone who isn't fighting back, and they only ever have fun if they can spoil your day by killing you 10 m away from a sky shard that you tried to pick up.

There is literally no other reason whatsoever to oppose a PvE instance of cyro, so if you do, we know why.

Lol sure bub. Believe it or not, most folks who PVP go to where the fighting is, which is not at delve entrances 😉. If a ganker is in fact waiting at one, they'll be waiting quite a long time for that one "all divines" pve player.

Gear up, step in sometime, the water is just fine.

You keep saying that, but the reality is, if you wanted real PvP, you would have no problem with PvEers having a separate instance. The mere fact that you oppose it says that you're lying right now about what motivates PvPers.

Where the hell is all this coming from? Listen bud just because something happen to you, don't try to label all PvPers with the same brush. You sound childish. It's a damn PvP zone, the hell do you expect? A round of pattycake?

Wait why in God's name is anyone wearing trial gear in PvP and not expecting to be folded 😆

Before you label me as one of those epeen waving PvPers. I play both, got the skyshards and didn't bring paper towel gear to a warzone 😒

Here's an easy reason why it shouldn't. You don't need the skyshards there, they are optional. If you want them *gasp* you'll have to go to a warzone. PvPers have to go into PvE zones and content for their wants and needs, so should you.

Quite untrue, I firmly believe that if you want the rewards (skyshards, explorer achievement etc) you should play the content as designed. I play almost all modes of the game and don't bellyache that it's too hard to do xyz to get abc, I just do the content if I want the reward.

Fact: pretty easy to go unnoticed in cyro to get the delves, skyshards are more challenging but doable, even for a non-pvper.

Fact: not every pvper is a ganker/pve player killer, if they were, not much would be going on in cyro.

No thanks. I really like that there's a place where there is danger to get skyshards and do delves etc. If there was a pve version that gave the same rewards without the danger that would really spoil the fun. And now you may say that I could just chose to go to pvp version of cyrodiil. Problem is it wouldnt be fun anymore knowing that the danger that I now endure is pointless, because I could just get the same rewards easily with no risk by going to the pve world. So, no thanks, no pve cyrodiil. Thankfully Im certain this will never be a thing.

The people oppose it because they think it's silly to offer a safe space for players who want access to the one area of the game that belongs to PvPers without having to play by the rules of that region. This is despite PvErs having every other region to skip and frolick in Tamriel, you want to go against the lore of Cyrodiil being a war zone because you want to quest without the threat of fighting another player.

If there was a thread that asked for all of Tamriel to be PvP space you would be up in arms saying to leave the PvPers in Cyrodiil where they belong.

If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen (Cyrodiil).

Personally I think that could be fun, that's one of the things I really liked about Wow pvp worlds you always knew that almost no where were safe. Not suggesting eso should turn into that, but maybe just one zone outside cyro in the future could be come pvp? Just my personal hope :)(it's not gonna happen, I know that)
