It's one thing to have, say, a discount on an item as a promotion. As a loyal customer or not, you can still participate by simply buying the item at a discount.
It's another thing to say, "Hey, we're giving out free samples. But you, our loyal customer, can't have one. Sorry."

If that happened in real life, I'd be people would feel some degree of upset.
But here, people are using a buzzword for posturing.

Hey! We have a great deal on internet access! Low rate, etc, etc,etc.... very small print "New subscribers only"

Hey! We have this year's brand new vehicles on sale! All kinds of bells and whistles! New buyers special rates! [current vehicle owners get a $500 bonus that isn't comparable to what new buyers get....

Seen the same type of thing for just about any large cost item or service. Incentives for new customers will happen. It happens all the time in real life. For some goods and services you might be able to get better terms, you might not, its up to the business what they are willing to do. Knowing what the sub is and what recourse you have with ZOS for ESO, yeah, wanting compensation for their attempts to get more subscribers is kinda assuming entitlement.

I'm too beat by the heatwave in my country to take the time to argument but I just wanted to drop this comment to voice my support of this thread and recognize how strangely difficult it is to question Zenimax on this forum without absurd backlash from the community. The Bandarii crates? yeah, those were "special preview crates". People have gotten the radiant apext special mounts from free crates before though. Not often, but the gremlins of rng will have their way.
