Dungeon Finder to include Trials?

Should Z add all the game Trials, similar to all the game Dungeons, to the Dungeon Finder so we can PUG and learn Trials as well as the Dungeons?
This would not be mandatory, just like using the Finder is not mandatory for Dungeons currently.

The only trials that I'm comfortable doing with 12 random people who lied about their role and DPS is normal cragslorn trials, and even then, half of them probably don't know mechanics.

How about they get the regular Battle Ground queue and Dungeon Finder in a stable, working order before adding trials?

i could see a group finder for normal trials...but i see a lot of issues

    a) can the group finder even handle the size / complexity?

    b) the chance ot end up in a bad / fake group with so many more people is so much higher and the frustration potential so much bigger...

maybe they can add a system that makes the manual process easier / more comfortable

If it’s half as bad as every group finder group I get put in then it would 100% not work, not even worth the time to implement. People can’t be bothered to properly use food and a basic rotation before going into a vet dlc dungeon. Getting a proper guild to show you the ropes is how it should be. Lets have them spend the development time on more important content and bug fixes.

I get the gist. But when the call sent out to Zone is have 45K dps AND a clear, we need a Finder for those wanting to run the content without that gate.

45k dps is overkill, but it's a good way to make sure your pug will not fail. Asking for a clear doesn't look so dramatic.

VSS is pretty simple trial , unlike VMOL , VCR , VHOF .

It can be done by 35k dps for sure .

Tbh. I have no idea why it still does not support it. Many ppl dont play them at all because of that reason. Only do them once to "clear" the map.
I simply dont see a reson why arenas & trials are not supported. Those are pretty easy on normal even when pugged. Veteran might be more chalenging, but definitely do-able.

So you want a bunch of 20k dpsers like you get in dungeon finder for DLC trials with no clue what to do in order to accomplish what exactly? You'll just wipe a few times and people will leave.

The requirements are basically 30k for crag trials, 40k for DLC trials and 45k or more for most of the HMs and it's that way for a reason.

Edit: Normal trials would be fine in dungeon finder, vet trials would be a complete disaster

Not a good idea because some have no problems in lying to others about their role and their dps. Also, mechanics knowledge and coordination is a must.

PS - I've seen what a bad pug can do in a dlc dungeon vet mode...

I was talking about craglorn trials, because some people actually ask for 45k for craglorn trials. But yeah, I would exclude vSS from that list unless we start going into HMs.

I'm for it. Let the random people see what trials are about. They might not succeed, but they will learn something, and it might motivate them. To join a guild, to improve themselves, etc.

I really dislike the argument "but they dont know the mechanics". Nobody knows the mechanics of a new trial. It has to be figured out first. Letting the "elite guilds" figure it out first, then watch them on youtube and copy it, that's just a crutch in my opinion. Making it a requirement, like this was a job, not a game for fun, that's just sad.

If you feel like "it would be a waste of my time", well, the trial group finder probably wasn't meant for you, feel free to continue to do them with your guild.

Only if it's a separate trial finder with normal as the only option. Maybe even with a vet ready check feature while in the trial for groups that are feeling ambitious.

I like the idea of a trial finder, since often a group might just need a few more players, but are having trouble picking up people in zones/guilds.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

No....join a trials guild instead. Learning trials in a pug where it’s unlikely someone will lead and guide is not fair to learners or casuals. Group finder is proof of this, join a trial guild and prepare to learn.

I support it in principle, I want more people to have opportunities to learn and experience trials. In practice though, it's hard to see how it wouldn't end up just being complete chaos without more organization than the current LFG tool offers. Vet trials when you actually needs to have people designated to deal with mechanics would be almost impossible. Most normal trials would be feasible but even then it just takes 1 genius with who queued as a DPS with a pierce armour spam build to constantly overtaunt the boss and wipe an inexperienced group.

But wait I thought the only people that wanna do trials is like 1 %of the population. I thought the community wanted the dev's to stop making dungeons and trials and focus on that awesome leveling content with no levels?. They need a better group finder system period. The role selector should not allow you to cue for a roll .until it checks your base stats and attributes .to make sure you meet the minimum requirements for that role.

Here is what I am reading in a lot of posts:

The issue of why I wouldn't use it is X so nobody should have it.

People already form groups for Dungeons as it is (Especially for DLC dungeon achievements such as no death and speed runs). Using the activity finder (for dungeons and battle grounds) people can lie about their roles, be horrible at their roles, or gasp not know the dungeon or activity inside and out.

If you are looking for a random group that is the draw back you may not get the best of the best, with gold gear, running the best in slot sets. The trade off is a larger pool will likely start playing and people will develop the skills to win. I am going to put on my Captain Obvious hat and state what is already known. Most players enjoy beating content. They love doing dungeons and being successful and they wish to contribute to their groups. Everyone learned the dungeons by entering in and dying. Some jumped in the PTS and died a lot (consoles cannot do this). The rest by entering a dungeon and trying it out. Finally all of our time is valuable and we each have our own learning methods. Some learn by watching videos (after someone else learned by trial and error) and others learn by doing (and then make videos for others to watch).

tl;dr I am for it as I like more options for others to have fun. I am not waiting for Zenimax to write the perfect code first or I would only play elder scroll games after the community issued patches which may be found for Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and every other game. I have way to much fun playing it while new to do that!

Well it's a good thing that Craglorn trials can be done blindfolded and with one hand, so mechanics are basically moot.
